Student answer (Band 5.0)
It is often contended that the position of women has changed a great deal in many societies over the past 50 years. Meanwhile, these societies cannot claim to have achieved gender equality overall . I completely disagree with this statement because government has set up various rules and regulations in-favour of women’s and also stated some reservations for women’s in different sectors.
To begin with, government has introduced various rules for the safety as well for the equality of women’s including in the women have a right to vote and own property by their own name . For instance, women own their own flats in various residential and commercial buildings by their own name . Government ensures that women’s get all rights as per the law .
Secondly, The government introduces several reservations for the women’s in politician field. Before 50 years women’s was not allowed to enrolled themselves in any central or state legislation mainly in the India. But afterwards, the women were allowed to fight for their seats and can become the person to run the country as well . For instance , in the parliament of the india, 50% seats are reserved for the women . However, societies and government are now giving equal rights to women by giving them vote to run the country .
In conclusion, I firmly disagree with this statement of inequality because nowadays government makes ensure that women get all equal rights and helps them to obtain their own identity by creating awareness for other women as well

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You state a clear position—“I completely disagree”—and give two relevant areas to support it: legal rights and women’s participation in politics. However, the response only partially addresses the question because it mainly lists changes and does not examine whether these amount to gender equality or identify continuing inequalities. The examples, such as women owning property and seats being reserved in parliament, are brief and not sufficiently explained; the claim that 50% of seats are reserved is also presented without context. The response contains 230 words, so it is 20 words below the required minimum. Develop your argument by explaining what these examples demonstrate and acknowledging areas where equality remains incomplete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two supporting paragraphs and a conclusion. “To begin with” and “Secondly” help signal the main points, and the conclusion returns to your stated disagreement. However, progression within the paragraphs is limited: ideas are often listed rather than connected through explanation, and the second paragraph moves from past restrictions to current reservations and voting without clearly showing how each point supports your position. Some linking is repetitive or awkward, such as repeated references to “government” and “women’s.” Improve cohesion by using clearer topic sentences, explaining the relationship between examples and claims, and ensuring each paragraph develops one central idea.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “gender equality,” “rules and regulations,” “right to vote,” “own property,” and “legislation.” This gives the response enough basic language to communicate its main points. However, the range is limited and several choices or collocations are inaccurate, which makes parts sound unnatural: “in-favour of women’s,” “in politician field,” and “run the country” do not express the intended ideas precisely. The repeated use of “government,” “women,” and “rights” also limits variety. Build a more precise topic vocabulary and check how words combine; for example, describe legal protections, political representation, and equal opportunities rather than relying on broad or repetitive phrases.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, and the overall meaning is usually understandable. However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. For example, “women’s was not allowed to enrolled themselves” has problems with subject–verb agreement, verb form and sentence construction; “government has set up” also lacks an appropriate article, while “women have a right” needs more accurate article use. There are also inconsistent tense choices, as in “introduces” alongside past-tense discussion. Practise forming accurate clauses with consistent tense, correct agreement and articles, then use a wider range of structures without sacrificing clarity.
