Student answer (Band 6.0)

Over the past five decades, in many societies women's position has changed a lot, However these societies have not been developed enough to have a claim of gender quality due to several contributing factors. I completely agree with this given statement and all with reasons for my agreement will be explained in the following paragraphs.

Nowdays, women are contributing more in every field of society as compared to ancient communities as now they have better educational and job oppourtunities, right to live independent life. Earlier, they were not allowed to get out from their home to study but now it is becoming a nesscesity for women to go outside and start the businesses as per their choice and potential. For instance, women are having equal right to work and live their life on their own without any restrictions of society.

However, these communities have not been claimed as gender equality due to several reasons. One of the major significant reason is, men are still assumed to be dominant and women are still considered as a house a labour even though they are having full-time job. Women have to carry burden of the house responsibilties and take care of their child. In these societies, it is not acceptable that men should also have some contributuion in domestic work.

To conclude, I completely agree with the statement that women's position has been changed over the last years as now they get oppourtunities to live their life independetly but still there are some factors due to which these societies can not claim to have achieved gender equality as men continue to hold dominant position in public.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you completely agree that changes in women’s lives have not yet produced gender equality. You address both sides of the statement by mentioning improved access to education and work, then contrasting this with women’s continuing domestic responsibilities and men’s social dominance. These are relevant reasons, but some are not developed equally. For example, the point about women’s opportunities is supported mainly by a broad example, while the domestic-work argument is more specific. The claim that women have equal rights to work also sits uneasily beside the argument that equality has not been achieved; distinguishing legal rights from equality in practice would clarify your reasoning. Develop each point with a concrete example or explanation of its effects.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction states your view, the body paragraphs present progress and continuing inequality, and the conclusion restates your position. The contrast signalled by “However” helps readers follow the shift from improvements to remaining barriers, and ideas within the final body paragraph are generally connected. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some features of stronger progression. However, links between claims are sometimes abrupt: the first body paragraph moves from education and jobs to independent living without explaining how these examples relate to equality. The conclusion also repeats the introduction rather than drawing together the two main arguments. Use clearer links between each claim and its supporting explanation, and vary the way you refer back to key ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “educational and job opportunities,” “dominant,” “domestic work,” and “gender equality,” so the main ideas are understandable. There are also attempts to express more specific concepts, such as women carrying the “burden” of household responsibilities. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling problems reduce precision: “gender quality” should be “gender equality,” “house a labour” is unclear, and “contributuion” and “oppourtunities” are misspelled. Phrases such as “have not been claimed as gender equality” do not express the intended meaning naturally. Build a more accurate set of topic collocations and check spelling and word forms; this will make your argument clearer and more fluent.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a contrast clause beginning “However” and a reason clause with “due to several reasons.” Most of the intended meaning can be followed, but some grammatical errors affect clarity. For example, “One of the major significant reason is” has problems with the noun phrase and singular agreement, while “women are still considered as a house a labour” has an unclear structure. In the opening, the comma after “a lot” incorrectly joins two independent clauses, and “all with reasons for my agreement” is not a well-formed construction. Aim for more controlled sentence boundaries and check agreement, articles, and clause structure. Clearer, shorter sentences would help you show your ideas accurately.
