Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

You address the topic by describing changes in women’s opportunities, including education, employment, sport, the military and politics. Your view appears to agree that women’s position has improved, but you do not clearly answer the central question: whether these changes amount to gender equality. The final point about women doing a “second” set of duties at home could support disagreement, but it is unfinished and not explained. The response contains 148 words, below the required 250; 10 words copied from the prompt were excluded from that count. This leaves your reasons and examples too limited to develop the argument. State your position directly, then explain and support two or three relevant reasons, including the remaining inequalities you believe exist.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is a basic sequence from the general claim about change to examples of women’s participation, and phrases such as “For example” help signal an illustration. However, the response is presented as one continuous block, so the reader cannot easily distinguish an introduction, supporting points and conclusion. Repeated openings such as “Nowadays” and “woman” also make progression feel list-like, while the final sentence stops at “lk” and does not complete the point. Organise the essay into clear paragraphs, with one main idea in each body paragraph. Use linking phrases to show contrast and consequence—for example, connect increased employment to the continuing burden of housework—and finish with a concise conclusion that restates your position.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “gender equality,” “universities,” “politics” and “important decision,” and your examples show an attempt to discuss several areas of women’s lives. At present, however, the range is basic and some phrases are unclear or inaccurately formed, such as “womanwork together with the mens,” “many progressive” and “the second duties.” Spelling errors, including “posistion,” “importaant” and “socities,” also reduce accuracy. These issues sometimes make the intended meaning harder to follow, although the general topic remains recognisable. Build a more precise set of phrases for discussing equality, such as equal opportunities, representation and unpaid domestic work, and check spelling and word forms during revision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt to express comparisons and give examples, and some basic sentence meanings can be understood. However, grammatical control is inconsistent: “woman have have many opportunity” has problems with agreement, repetition and plural forms, while “if we saw over the 50 year ago” does not form a clear comparison. Verb forms and sentence boundaries are also unreliable, as in “woman has join the politics,” and several ideas run together without clear punctuation. The response relies mainly on simple statements, with limited accurate control of longer structures. Practise forming complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement, tense and articles. Then use a few controlled complex sentences to explain contrasts, such as how opportunities have increased while domestic responsibilities remain.
