Student answer (Band 5.5)
The society has transformed from male dominant society to equality over the past 50 years. However, these societies failed to grant the equality and hence the gender equality have not fully acheived yet. In my opinion, I partially agree in this statement because in some areas of underdeveloped countries the discrimination based on gender still prevails but less common in educated and devloped cities.
Gender discrimination is the key factor which hold women's growth. In many parts of developing and underdeveloping nations, gender inequality exists in high number.Unfortunately, women are limited in household chores restricting them to participate in external affairs. For example, in rural part of Nepal, girls were not allowded to go school. They lacks basic education and deprived form basic human rights and ultimately forced to get marriage in early ages; hence, the cyle continued.
In contrast, the status of women has changed in many society, especially in Eastern societies, where they play major role in shaping society. Constitution has reserved their rights. Furthermore, women in these part of world frequently involves form basic work to higher authority. For instance, women actively taking part in politics where they contribute in formulating rules and regulation of a nation. Similarly, we can see the participation of women in other different areas such as medical, engineering, astronomy and so on.
To conlude, the gender equality has not achieved competely across the world. In some corner of the globe, it exists still as a disease meanwhile, other part have completely irradicated it. Hence, this society cannot claim to have achieced gender equality.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You give a clear, relevant response: you partly agree that gender equality has not been achieved, and you contrast continuing discrimination in rural Nepal with women’s participation in politics and professional fields. These examples address both sides of the issue. However, the position is not fully consistent: the opening says society has transformed “to equality,” while the conclusion says some places have “completely eradicated” inequality, which sits uneasily with your overall claim. Several points are asserted rather than explained, such as the claim that women’s rights are reserved in constitutions. Clarify the extent of your agreement and develop examples by explaining how they demonstrate progress or continuing inequality.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs and a conclusion. The progression from ongoing discrimination to improvements in women’s status is easy to follow, and signposts such as “In contrast,” “Furthermore” and “Similarly” help connect points. However, some links are mechanical, and the relationship between ideas is not always precise. For example, “Hence, this society cannot claim” follows a conclusion that says some regions have eradicated inequality, without clearly reconciling those claims. References such as “these part of world” and “other part” are also unclear. To improve, make each paragraph’s central point explicit and use pronouns and linking phrases that clearly identify the people or places being discussed.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “gender discrimination,” “human rights,” “formulating rules and regulation,” and “participation,” and you attempt some less common expressions such as “external affairs” and “higher authority.” This gives you enough range to discuss the topic, but inaccurate word choice, collocation and spelling are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning less natural. Examples include “gender inequality exists in high number,” “forced to get marriage,” and “irradicated.” Some phrases are also too broad, such as “Eastern societies,” which does not identify a clear context. Aim for more precise, natural combinations and check spelling and word forms carefully; this will make your argument clearer without requiring more complicated vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including cause-and-effect structures with “because,” “hence” and “where,” and most of the main ideas remain understandable. However, errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence construction recur. For example, “the gender equality have not fully achieved” has an agreement and passive-form problem, while “women … frequently involves” does not match the plural subject. In “girls were not allowded to go school,” the verb form and article/preposition pattern need correction. Some sentences also join several ideas with semicolons or commas, making their structure difficult to control. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and passive forms, and divide long sentences when they contain several separate claims.
