Student answer (Band 5.5)

The society has made a significant improvement by giving equal rights to women in their social, personal and professional life accross 50 years. However, these societies have still not acquired women's safety, their wages compared to men doing the same job, work-life balance.

The government have made many rules and are working on various types of projects for women's education and empowerment. Nowadays women's can go and pursue their career on a free will, they can raise their voice in society, they're independent individuals now rather than supported from their husband's income.

On the other hand, women's in our society are still not safe to go outside after evening, they get paid less amount of money compared to men's while doing the same job, they still have to do chores in the house and take care of their childrens, while doing the job.

In conclusion, in order to truely be a society with no sex differentiation, we ought to treat women with no less respect than men, Married couples shall divide their work in 50-50 order irrespective of the gender, The girl parents should also understand the importance of education and educating their girls and boys the same. I think while doing these things eventually our society will achieve actual gender equality.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You take a relevant position: society has made progress, but equality has not been achieved. The examples of safety, unequal pay, and the unequal burden of domestic work address the question, and your conclusion offers practical steps. However, the discussion is brief and several points are asserted rather than explained—for example, you mention women’s lower wages but give no illustration or explanation of how this inequality persists. The opening also lists areas of progress without developing them. The response contains 212 words, so it does not meet the required minimum of 250; this limits the space available to develop and support your ideas. Add specific examples and explain how each supports your view.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, a paragraph about progress, a paragraph about continuing inequalities, and a conclusion. The contrast signalled by “On the other hand” helps readers follow the shift in focus, and the main ideas are generally presented in a sensible order. However, the progression within paragraphs is sometimes list-like: safety, pay, and household duties are placed together without transitions or explanation showing how they relate. The conclusion also introduces several recommendations in one long sequence. Develop one main point at a time, use clearer links between examples and explanations, and divide the recommendations into more manageable sentences. This would make the cohesion less mechanical and the relationships between ideas clearer.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “equal rights,” “empowerment,” “independent individuals,” and “gender equality.” These choices make your central meaning clear, and you show some ability to discuss social and workplace issues. However, the range is limited, and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “acquired women’s safety,” “on a free will,” and “no sex differentiation.” There are also spelling errors, including “accross” and “truely,” which reduce accuracy. Aim for more precise expressions and check spelling carefully. For example, use “ensured women’s safety,” “choose their careers freely,” and “gender discrimination” to express these ideas more naturally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including the contrastive opening and the sentence beginning “while doing the job.” The overall meaning is usually understandable, but errors in agreement, articles, plurals, and sentence construction recur. Examples include “The government have,” “women’s can,” “their childrens,” and “the girl parents.” The final sentence also joins several recommendations with commas and capital letters rather than controlling them as separate clauses. Practise subject–verb agreement and possessive forms, and use full stops or conjunctions to manage longer sentences. More accurate control of these patterns, alongside your attempts at complex sentences, would make the argument easier to read.
