Student answer (Band 5.5)

Over the last five decades, the role of women in societies has been transformed, contributing equally in every sector. In contrast, some societies argue on gender equality and they believe men and women are not equal. I agree with that the role of women has been totally tranformed and they surved remarkably in every sector.

In this modern world, women is working in every sector equally without any racism and stereotypes. However, many organizations and Governmennts running campaigns which motivates the women of rural areas and housewifes to learn new skills and earned through it. In the early centuries, specially in rural areas, women's literacy rate is very low. But now, it become much better. Womens are still contributing in several sectors like healthcare, army and offical Government positions. Meanwhile, according to recent studies, womens are very intelligent in studies and they always get good grades, if compared with men.

Futhermore, some socities have concerned on gender equality. They still believe women is not a prominent choice for hardwoking job. For example, many organizations have a perception, if hiring a women for work, then she has household issues and responbilities, can't sit for late working hours, and might not be comfortable with men workforce. Due to all factors, they offered a low salaries by men. Meanwhile, many business strictly prohibited to hired women for work becuase their nature of business is different.

In conclusion, I agree with that the role of women in socities has been changed over the last five decades but some concerns still exist in the society which might discourage the womens like biasness, low wages and discrimination.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address the topic and give a broadly clear view: women’s roles have changed substantially, while discrimination and unequal pay remain. The examples about women working in healthcare, the army and government, and employers’ assumptions about family responsibilities are relevant. However, the response does not consistently answer the central question of whether societies have achieved gender equality: the opening says women contribute equally, while the conclusion stresses continuing inequality, without clearly explaining how these points shape your overall degree of agreement. Several claims, such as women being more intelligent or businesses refusing to hire women, are broad and not sufficiently supported. Develop a few examples and connect them directly to your judgement about equality.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The paragraphs broadly separate progress from continuing barriers, which helps the reader follow the main ideas. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the discussion moves from campaigns and literacy to women’s intelligence without explaining the connection. Linking expressions such as “In contrast,” “Meanwhile” and “Furthermore” are used, but some do not show the precise relationship between the ideas that follow. The conclusion repeats the main points rather than drawing them together into a clear answer. Organise each body paragraph around one central claim, then use explanation and a specific example to develop it.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “gender equality,” “stereotypes,” “literacy rate,” “discrimination” and “low wages,” so the subject is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or awkward choices make parts of the response difficult to read, such as “argue on gender equality,” “surved remarkably,” “low salaries by men” and “biasness.” Spelling errors, including “tranformed,” “Governmennts” and “responbilities,” also reduce accuracy. Some repeated wording, particularly “women” and “sector,” could be replaced with more precise alternatives. Build a bank of accurate collocations for discussing employment, representation and unequal treatment, and check spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional example beginning “if hiring a women for work,” and you use contrast clauses such as “but some concerns still exist.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to affect clarity. Examples include “women is working,” “campaigns which motivates,” “it become much better,” and “they offered a low salaries,” where agreement, tense or number is not controlled. Articles and sentence construction are also problematic in phrases such as “hiring a women” and “many business strictly prohibited to hired women.” Practise building accurate subject–verb patterns and past-tense forms, then proofread each sentence for agreement, articles and plural nouns.
