Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address the three requested points: you explain that you currently work in a restaurant, give relevant experience and qualities, and state when you could attend an interview. The four years of experience, punctuality, and positive feedback from customers and your owner all support your suitability. However, some details are vague or not fully developed: “working very efficiently” and “my work is very impressive” would be stronger with a specific example of your duties or achievements. The reason for applying focuses mainly on the restaurant being “big” and “well reputed,” rather than what you could contribute. Use a more formal application style and make your availability precise, for example, by naming a day or time.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The information is generally relevant and follows a sensible order: introduction, current work and suitability, then interview availability. This makes the main message understandable. However, the response is presented as one continuous block, so the reader has little visual guidance between these stages. Several ideas are also joined by repeated “and,” “but,” and “so,” as in the sentence explaining why you want to work at the restaurant. This creates a list-like progression rather than clearly connected development. Divide the letter into short paragraphs and use linking expressions selectively to show relationships, such as adding evidence of your experience before explaining your motivation. A conventional opening and closing would also make the letter feel more complete.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough job-related vocabulary to communicate your experience and qualities, including “punctual,” “experience,” “customer,” and “services.” Some choices, however, are repetitive or imprecise, which limits the range and naturalness of the letter. For example, “my work is very impressive” is vague, while “low scale” and “well reputed area” do not express your meaning naturally in this context. “Extra tip” and “quick services” are also awkward collocations. Aim for precise language about restaurant duties and customer service, such as describing how you serve customers or handle busy periods. Check spelling and standard forms, including “small,” “customers,” and “Thank you,” and avoid informal shorthand such as “u.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
Your message is understandable, and you attempt to combine ideas using clauses, for example, when explaining your current job and future availability. However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make parts of the letter less smooth. Examples include “I’m writing this letter for applying as waitress,” missing or incorrect articles in “in restaurant” and “as waitress,” and the run-on construction “I can attend an interview most probably the next weekend as i will be free in upcoming week.” Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, particularly the lowercase “i” and missing spaces after full stops. Practise accurate article use and sentence boundaries, then vary simple sentences with correctly formed subordinate clauses.
