Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The letter addresses all three bullet points: current occupation, suitability, and interview availability. However, the response is 147 words, falling short of the 150-word minimum requirement. This under-length impacts the overall task achievement score. While the ideas are relevant, they are somewhat brief and could have been expanded with more specific examples of your previous duties to better demonstrate your suitability. To improve, ensure you provide more descriptive detail to meet the length requirement and fully develop your points.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your points. You use basic cohesive devices like 'In addition' and 'because' to link ideas. However, the flow is occasionally hindered by minor errors in punctuation and spacing (e.g., 'newspaper.I'm', 'Currently,I'). The transition between the introduction and the body paragraphs is clear, but the overall structure would benefit from more varied linking words to improve the flow and cohesion between sentences.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'fast-paced environment', 'customer service', and 'maintaining high standards'. However, there are several spelling errors, such as 'watress', 'beleive', 'yoour', and 'accor'. These errors are noticeable and detract from the professional tone of a job application. To reach a higher band, focus on accurate spelling and try to incorporate more precise professional collocations, such as 'professional experience' or 'demonstrated ability'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response uses a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. There are frequent errors in punctuation, such as missing spaces after periods and commas (e.g., 'newspaper.I'm', 'Currently,I'). Additionally, there are minor grammatical slips, such as 'I am used to work' (should be 'I am used to working') and 'look forward for your response' (should be 'look forward to your response'). While these errors do not prevent understanding, they are frequent enough to impact the overall accuracy score.
