Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The letter addresses all three bullet points required by the prompt: your current employment, your suitability for the role, and your availability for an interview. You have adopted an appropriate tone for a formal job application. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, while you mention your four years of experience, you could have provided more specific examples of your duties or achievements to make your application more persuasive. The opening paragraph is slightly repetitive, as it restates the advertisement details unnecessarily. To improve, ensure each point is expanded with more detail to fully demonstrate your professional capabilities.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is generally coherent, and the progression of ideas is logical. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'moreover' and 'however' to link your thoughts. However, the paragraphing is inconsistent and lacks clear structure. The opening sentence is disconnected from the salutation, and the body paragraphs are somewhat cluttered. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider range of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus. The transition between your current job and your suitability for the new role could be smoother to improve the overall flow of the letter.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'punctual', 'opportunity', and 'management'. However, there are several spelling errors, such as 'raputed' (reputed), 'exprience' (experience), 'costumers' (customers), and 'skils' (skills). Additionally, some word choices are slightly informal or imprecise, such as 'i'm very good at my work'. To improve, focus on accuracy in spelling and try to incorporate more professional collocations, such as 'customer service' or 'professional experience', rather than relying on basic descriptors. Proofreading for common spelling mistakes will significantly enhance your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that occasionally impede readability. Issues include inconsistent capitalization (e.g., 'i' instead of 'I'), missing articles, and run-on sentences. For example, 'i'm very good at my work' and 'i'm also really good at orgnazing tables' lack proper sentence boundaries. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of attention to basic grammatical rules and punctuation marks like commas and periods makes the writing feel unpolished. Focusing on sentence structure and basic mechanics will help improve your accuracy.
