Student answer (Band 5.0)
Yesterday I just sitting in tv lounge reading my daily newspaper I just see the advertisement which is related to waitresses job. I am quite interested in this job because it is suitable for me.
Currently I am working in a private hospital as a sweeper. I don't like my job type but due to some responsibilities and financial issues I am doing this job. before this I also worked in restaurant as waitresses but due to less salary and this restaurant is far away from my home. much of my money are spends on transportation expensives that's why I leave this job
I have 2 year's experience in related advertisement . This job is very suitable for me because restaurant is near to my home. Another benefits of this job is time saving and easily approachable and also good salary package . I can easily fulfil all of my responsibilities with this salary package.
Tomorrow I am free I just want to come attend an interview.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
You have addressed all three bullet points of the task: explaining your current situation, describing your suitability, and requesting an interview. However, the development of these points is quite basic. For example, your explanation of your current job as a 'sweeper' and your reasons for leaving the previous restaurant are somewhat informal and lack the professional tone required for a formal letter of application. To improve, ensure you expand on your skills and experience in a more structured, professional manner to better persuade the employer of your suitability.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The letter is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your points. However, the use of cohesive devices is very limited and often mechanical. Phrases like 'Another benefits of this job' and 'that's why I leave this job' are grammatically awkward and disrupt the flow. There is a lack of linking words to connect your ideas smoothly. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of transition signals (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in addition') to create a more logical progression between your sentences.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive, relying on basic words like 'job', 'suitable', and 'good'. There are several errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'much of my money are spends on transportation expensives' (should be 'spent on transportation expenses') and 'easily approachable' (which is not the correct term for a workplace). You need to incorporate more precise, professional vocabulary related to employment and customer service to demonstrate a wider range of language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('much of my money are spends'), tense errors ('Yesterday I just sitting'), and missing articles or incorrect pluralisation ('2 year's experience'). Your sentence structures are mostly simple, with very few attempts at complex sentences. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically verb tenses and subject-verb agreement, before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
