Student answer (Band 5.5)
Respected Sir,
I hope you are doing great, I am pleased to inform you that recently i came across your advertisement in an article about the vaccency available in your restaurant. I am a professional waiter from last 3 years and somehow i was jobless from last 20 days.
I have worked at an elite club where i have served as a best employer but in the circumstances of some family matters i had to quit that job. I consider myself the best fit for the given post that you had offered as i am capabile of all the desired needs you had mentioned.
I am available for an interview if that is the requirment. I can asure you that you won't find me imcompitent for this opportunity. I will be waiting for your invitation for a meeting to discuss the best interst of both of us.
I hope you will at least provide me a fair chance to place my case.
Your's Sincerely,
Nasir Khan

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
You have addressed all three bullet points required by the task: explaining your current situation, describing your suitability, and mentioning interview availability. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, while you mention being a 'professional waiter', you could have provided more specific details about your duties or the type of service you provided to better demonstrate your suitability. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter, although the opening 'Respected Sir' is slightly unconventional for a modern business context; 'Dear Hiring Manager' or 'Dear Sir/Madam' would be more standard. Overall, the response covers the requirements but lacks depth in the supporting details.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The letter follows a logical structure, moving from the purpose of the letter to your experience and finally to the interview request. Paragraphing is present, though the paragraphs are quite short. You use some basic cohesive devices like 'I am pleased to inform you' and 'I can assure you', but the flow between sentences is occasionally mechanical. The transition between your current status and your past experience could be smoother. While the overall arrangement is coherent and the reader can follow your message without difficulty, the use of cohesive devices is not yet flexible or sophisticated enough for a higher band.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is adequate for the task but shows some limitations and errors. You use some relevant terms like 'advertisement', 'professional', and 'opportunity'. However, there are several spelling errors, such as 'vaccency' (vacancy), 'capabile' (capable), 'imcompitent' (incompetent), and 'interst' (interest). Additionally, some word choices are slightly unnatural, such as 'served as a best employer' (you likely meant 'employee') and 'desired needs'. To improve, focus on accuracy in spelling and ensure that your word choices align with standard professional collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'I am a professional waiter from last 3 years' (should be 'for the last 3 years'), 'i was jobless from last 20 days' (should be 'for the last 20 days'), and 'the post that you had offered' (simple past 'offered' is sufficient). The use of the first-person pronoun 'i' is consistently uncapitalized, which is a recurring error. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to limit your score in this criterion.
