Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5

The response successfully addresses all three bullet points of the prompt. You clearly explain your current status as a college student, describe your suitability by highlighting your personality traits and previous experience, and provide clear availability for an interview. The tone is appropriate for a formal letter of application. All parts of the task are covered well, and the ideas are developed sufficiently to meet the requirements of the task. No information is missing, and the purpose of the letter is clear from the outset.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5

The letter is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a closing. Each paragraph focuses on a specific aspect of the prompt, which aids readability. You use cohesive devices such as 'Currently', 'Moreover', and 'I also' to link your ideas effectively. The progression of information is smooth and easy to follow. The paragraphing is appropriate for a formal letter, and the overall structure supports the development of your application.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'valuable work experience', 'well-suited', and 'convenient'. However, there are a few spelling errors, such as 'od' instead of 'of', 'quickn' instead of 'quick', and 'qucikly' instead of 'quickly'. Additionally, 'greatful' should be spelled 'grateful'. While these errors are noticeable, they do not impede communication. To reach a higher band, focus on proofreading for these minor slips and try to incorporate slightly more sophisticated collocations related to the hospitality industry.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

The letter uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as 'I am writing to apply for...' and 'I believe these skills would help me fit into the role quickly.' Most sentences are grammatically accurate and easy to understand. There are minor slips, such as the lowercase 'i' in 'and i am looking' and the pluralization error 'looked after guest' (should be 'guests'). Despite these occasional errors, your control of grammar is generally good, and the meaning is always clear. The punctuation is mostly correct, contributing to the overall clarity of the message.
