Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the main parts of the task by explaining current work status, mentioning suitability, and stating availability for an interview. However, the ideas are rather limited and under-developed, and the tone is sometimes inappropriate or unclear, such as stating that the restaurant's salary 'can attract me'. Additionally, the response falls short of the minimum length requirement, containing only 138 words instead of the required 150 words. To reach a higher band, the writer needs to expand on each bullet point more thoroughly, provide clearer explanations, and ensure the word count requirement is fully met.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some basic organisation in the letter, with separate paragraphs attempting to cover different aspects of the prompt. However, there is no clear overall progression, and the logical flow between sentences is occasionally disjointed. Cohesive devices are either missing or used inaccurately, and referencing is sometimes confusing, such as abrupt shifts between ideas. Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal structure of the paragraphs lacks smooth transitions. To improve in this area, the writer should use a wider variety of appropriate cohesive ties and ensure a logical, step-by-step development of ideas throughout the letter.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and barely adequate for the task, with noticeable errors in spelling, word choice, and word formation that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. Examples of lexical errors include 'resturants', 'experince', 'coomendable', 'reption holder', and the unusual collocation 'food line'. While the writer attempts some less common vocabulary, inaccuracies in spelling and phrasing hinder clear communication. To achieve a higher band, the student must expand their vocabulary range, learn correct collocations related to employment and hospitality, and pay close attention to spelling and word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The text demonstrates a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on basic sentence forms with frequent errors. Attempts at more complex sentences are often faulty, such as in the phrase 'As i got experince of 4 years in food line in same city hotel with coomendable certificate rewarded to me.' There are frequent errors in verb forms, articles, punctuation, and capitalization, such as lowercase 'i' and missing punctuation in the salutation 'Dear sir/ madam'. These frequent errors can cause some difficulty and strain for the reader. To improve, the writer needs to exercise greater control over basic sentence construction and increase the variety of accurate complex structures.
