Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You successfully address all parts of the prompt by explaining your current employment in a five-star restaurant, describing your suitability through your hardworking nature and professionalism, and stating your availability for an interview and future start date. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat uneven. While your current job and willingness to work shifts are clearly stated, your suitability could be expanded further by detailing specific duties you handle daily. Overall, the requirements of the prompt are covered, but certain points remain a little under-developed, placing your response firmly at this level.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
Your letter has a coherent overall arrangement with a clear paragraph structure that addresses each part of the prompt in sequence. You use basic paragraphing and simple transitions to guide the reader through your introduction, experience, suitability, and availability. However, your cohesion can feel a bit mechanical at times, such as the transition used in 'If i talk about my experience', and referencing is not always completely clear. To move to a higher band, you would need to use a wider range of cohesive devices more naturally and ensure smoother logical transitions between sentences.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully using terms related to the hospitality industry such as 'take aways', 'cleanliness', and 'hygiene environment'. You also attempt less common vocabulary phrases like 'five star restaurant' and 'proffesional way'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word choice errors, such as 'annouce' instead of 'announced', 'proffesional', and 'prepare' instead of 'prepared', alongside some awkward phrasing like 'Greeting respected'. These errors do not impede communication, but they reflect the vocabulary profile typical of this band level.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating conditional structures and relative clauses such as 'which you annouce in a local news paper' and 'if i got selected'. There are some errors in grammar and punctuation, including capitalization issues ('i' instead of 'I'), missing articles ('in local news paper'), and verb tense inconsistencies ('if i got selected will join'). Fortunately, these errors rarely impede communication and your meaning remains clear throughout the letter. To improve your grammar score, you should focus on careful proofreading to eliminate basic punctuation slips and ensure better control over complex clause structures.
