Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, coming in at only 129 words. Furthermore, the content does not successfully write a letter applying for the job as instructed. Instead of directly addressing the restaurant, the writer largely paraphrases the prompt instructions and prompt text (such as writing 'In this given statement illustrates a hotel has published an advertisement'). Because the submission reads more like a descriptive summary of the task prompt rather than a genuine application letter including the required details, it addresses the task only minimally and tangentially.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

Information and ideas are not arranged coherently. The response lacks a clear letter structure, greeting, or logical progression appropriate for correspondence. Instead of moving smoothly through the required bullet points, sentences are repetitive and circular, continuously talking about 'writing a letter to the restaurant' and mentioning 'free time'. While some basic linking words like 'To begin with' and 'In addition' are attempted, they are used mechanically and inaccurately to stitch together repetitive instructional phrasing rather than to connect coherent ideas about the writer's current employment and interview availability.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is very basic, repetitive, and heavily derivative of the task prompt itself, featuring terms like 'advertisement', 'newspaper', 'restaurant', and 'job'. There are frequent inappropriate word choices and word-form errors that strain the reader's understanding, such as 'waitressess', 'imformed', and writing 'news in newspaper for workers need' instead of natural phrasing. The range of vocabulary is severely limited and inadequate for effective communication, preventing any successful demonstration of less common lexical items.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The grammatical structures are extremely limited and frequently faulty, causing significant difficulty for the reader. The response contains major structural errors, such as subject-verb agreement failures and malformed clauses like 'In this given statement illustrates a hotel...'. Verbs and tenses are misused throughout, and sentences fail to form standard grammatical patterns, resulting in meanings that are often distorted or confusing. There is a complete lack of control over basic sentence architecture and punctuation.
