Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You make a basic attempt to apply for the waiter position and mention that you have completed your intermediate studies, have waiter experience, and would like an interview. However, the response addresses the task only minimally: your current situation is unclear, your suitability is asserted rather than supported with specific skills or examples, and you ask the restaurant to tell you when to attend instead of stating when you are available. The response is also 49 words below the required minimum, leaving little room to develop these points. To improve, explain your current circumstances, give evidence such as customer-service experience or reliability, and offer specific interview times.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5
The reader can identify the general purpose of the letter, and the ideas roughly move from your studies to your work experience and then to an interview request. However, the response is presented as one continuous sequence, with no clear opening, paragraphing, or appropriate closing. Repeated links such as “and now,” “and i,” and “so” make the progression difficult to follow, while repeated claims about working as a waiter do not add new information. Organise the letter into short paragraphs—for example, your current situation, relevant experience, and interview availability—and use clear transitions and a polite sign-off.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use a small set of relevant words, including “waiter,” “customers,” “study,” and “interview,” so the basic topic is recognisable. However, vocabulary is repetitive and several spelling or word-choice errors make the letter less clear, including “resturant,” “coustmors,” and “home expencies.” Phrases such as “i work in a waiter job” and “handle all the coustmors” are not natural ways to describe experience. Build a more precise range for job applications, such as “restaurant,” “customer service,” “serve guests,” and “work experience,” and check spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0
The response relies almost entirely on short, simple statements, and frequent errors sometimes make the intended meaning unclear. For example, “currently i completed my intermediate study” uses an unsuitable tense, while “if you dont like my work then i resign own work” has an incomplete and confusing conditional structure. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, as in “Hello, my name is ahmad .currently”. Practise forming accurate sentences with a clear subject and verb, and use appropriate past or present forms to describe your studies and experience. You could also combine related ideas with correctly formed clauses, while checking sentence boundaries and capital letters.
