Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You cover the main requested points: you explain that you are a senior waiter at HN Restaurant, describe your progression from assistant waiter and five years of experience, and request an interview on Friday at 10 a.m. However, suitability is only partly demonstrated. Promotion and long service suggest experience, but you do not give concrete examples of relevant skills, such as serving customers, working under pressure, or cooperating with kitchen staff. The application purpose is clear, though the opening is not formatted as a letter to a named or general recipient, and the reason for wanting this particular role is brief. Develop your suitability with specific evidence and use a conventional greeting and closing to address the task more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response contains a basic sequence: current employment, career history, the advertisement, and interview availability. Paragraph breaks help separate these topics, and phrases such as “furthermore” and “recently” signal movement between them. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because several ideas are joined into long, loosely connected sentences. The opening paragraph, for example, combines your current role, length of service, enjoyment, and a description of the restaurant without clear boundaries. Some linking is also mechanical, and the relationship between your childhood ambition and your suitability for the vacancy is not made explicit. Use shorter, focused paragraphs and clearer links between each point to make the letter easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant employment vocabulary, including “senior waiter,” “assistant waiter,” “management promoted me,” and “weekly off,” so the reader can understand the general context. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, including “supports the seniors,” “serve the purchers,” “enhance the salary,” and “boost my career.” Spelling and word-form errors such as “vacat” and “rele” also reduce precision. The phrase “with dignity and respect” does not clearly explain a job skill. Aim for more precise service-industry language and check spelling; for example, describe customer service, taking orders, or coordinating with colleagues rather than relying on general claims.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt to combine ideas using clauses and time expressions, as in the account of starting as an assistant waiter and later being promoted. However, sentence structures are often incomplete or run together, and errors frequently make the message harder to read. The opening, “This is babar at the moment i am working,” lacks clear sentence boundaries, while “it has been around 5 years i m doing so” has an unclear tense construction. Articles and agreement also need attention in phrases such as “as a assistant waiter” and “a vacat position has been announced.” Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent. Practise writing complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and use full stops to separate the stages of your work history.
