Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You include the three requested points: you explain that you work at another restaurant, describe experience with serving, management and customers, and say you are free on Monday for an interview. These details make your application relevant. However, the response only partly fulfils the purpose of a formal application letter. The opening discusses an advertisement and what the letter will cover rather than directly applying, and the suitability points are compressed into one long account. The interview availability is also vague because no time or date is specified beyond “this Monday.” Develop the application more clearly by stating the role you seek, linking your experience to the advertised duties, and giving a specific interview time.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some organisation: the response moves from an opening to current employment and then to suitability and interview availability. However, the progression is not consistently clear. The first two paragraphs are meta-commentary about the advertisement and what the letter will discuss, rather than useful stages of the application. Most relevant information is then placed in one long paragraph, with repeated “so” and “and also” linking ideas mechanically. The shift from describing your skills to explaining the distance problem and requesting the job is abrupt. Use separate paragraphs for your application and current situation, your relevant skills, and your interview availability; connect each point with clear, purposeful transitions.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant employment vocabulary, including “managing,” “handling,” “customers,” and “interview,” so the reader can identify your experience. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make the letter less clear or professional: “seving,” “coustomers,” “oders,” and “intrested” are misspelled, while “attempting customers” is not a natural collocation. Phrases such as “multi-task work” and “many kind of things” are also vague. Choose precise expressions such as “multitasking,” “serving customers,” and “taking orders,” and check spelling carefully. A more formal vocabulary for an application would help you describe your experience and motivation with greater precision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts longer sentences and gives several connected details, but the structures are often faulty, and sentence boundaries are not controlled consistently. For example, “currently i am working at a very reputed restaurant there i am doing…” joins independent clauses without suitable punctuation or a linking structure. There are also errors in articles, agreement and sentence construction, as in “a restaurants” and “many kind of things.” Capitalisation of “I” and sentence openings is inconsistent, and the opening uses an awkward passive construction: “a letter has been applied.” These errors sometimes make the reader work to follow the message. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then combine related ideas using controlled clauses and correct punctuation.
