Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
The letter is relevant to the advertised waiter position and gives one useful qualification: you report around three years of experience in hotels. However, it only partially fulfils the instructions. You do not explain what you are currently doing, and you do not say when you can attend an interview. Suitability is asserted in “I am suitable candidate” but is not supported with specific qualities or examples, such as customer-service skills or reliability. The response is also 42 words below the required minimum, leaving too little space to develop the application. Address each bullet point explicitly and add relevant details about your current situation, experience, and interview availability.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The basic letter format is recognisable, with an address and date, a recipient, a subject line, a greeting, and a closing. The experience is introduced after the purpose, so the reader can follow the main point. However, the body is very short and has no clear paragraphing or progression beyond stating interest and experience. The sentence beginning “The purpose of writing this letter” is followed by a separate “Because” fragment, which interrupts the flow. The assurance that you will not let the employer down is not linked to evidence of suitability. Organise the letter into short paragraphs—application and current situation, relevant experience and strengths, then interview availability—and use clear links between these points.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough basic vocabulary to communicate the central purpose, including “advertisement,” “experience,” and “duty of waiter.” The phrase “deep interest” also shows an attempt at a more formal application style. However, the range is limited, and some expressions are awkward or imprecise, such as “perform the duty of waiter” and “give me the chance.” Repetition of “experience” also limits variety. Choose natural employment collocations and more specific service-related vocabulary, for example, describe serving customers, taking orders, or working in a busy restaurant. More precise wording would make your application sound professional while keeping the meaning clear.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response uses mostly simple sentence patterns, with an attempt at a longer sentence to explain your application and experience. Some grammatical errors make parts less clear: “that is have seen” has an incorrect verb form, and “where i had perform” does not use the correct past-tense form. The phrase “I am suitable candidate” is missing an article, while “Do i assure you” has an incorrect question structure. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, including lowercase “i” and the comma after “Sincerely.” Practise accurate past-tense forms and complete sentence structures, then proofread articles, pronouns, and punctuation. These corrections will help your meaning come across more smoothly.
