Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You make a clear attempt to apply for the restaurant job and include information about your current situation as a college student, your availability, and attending an interview. However, the suitability point is only partly explained: saying you are “a hard worker” is relevant, but you give no example of experience or skills that would support this claim. Your availability is also unclear because you mention having lectures three days a week but do not specify which days or working hours you can offer. The interview request is more specific, as you ask about attending tomorrow, but the letter does not clearly explain when you are generally available. Develop these points with concrete details and a clear, professional application purpose.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response contains the main ideas in a broadly sensible order: your current studies, your suitability and schedule, and the interview. This gives the reader some organisation. However, the writing is presented as one continuous block, so the separate points are difficult to follow, and there is no clear opening or closing for a formal application letter. Connections such as “but” and “so” are used repeatedly, sometimes joining several unrelated ideas in long sentences. For example, the sentence beginning “I am suitable any area” moves from location to college commitments and work availability without clear progression. Use separate paragraphs for your application, relevant qualities and availability, and interview arrangements, with simpler links between ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use a small set of relevant words, including “student,” “college,” “hard worker,” “restaurant,” and “interview,” so the general purpose can be understood. However, the vocabulary is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make parts difficult to interpret, such as “pesure,” “lature,” “senspended,” and “scedule.” Some phrases are also unnatural for a job application, including “worker on restaurant” and “grow your restaurant.” Aim for accurate, task-specific expressions and check spelling carefully. For instance, you could describe yourself as reliable and explain that you are applying for a waiter or waitress position. More precise wording would make your relevant qualities and availability clearer to the reader.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt to combine ideas using longer sentences, but these are often difficult to follow because of frequent errors in sentence structure, verb forms, capitalisation, and punctuation. For example, “currently i am a student so,I aapy for a job” lacks a clear grammatical connection, while “my lature in 3 days a week” does not form a correct sentence. The response also has run-on sentences, particularly where several ideas are joined with “and” or “but,” and sentence boundaries are often missing. Use short, complete sentences first, with a clear subject and verb, then add a few accurately formed complex sentences. Check capital letters for “I” and use full stops to separate each main point.
