Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You identify the purpose of the letter and provide relevant information about your experience at Hilton hotels and your awards. However, the task is only minimally addressed: you do not explain what you are currently doing, and you never say when you are available for an interview. The request to arrange an interview is not enough to answer that specific point. Your suitability is asserted through “five years” of experience and awards, but these points need more detail about relevant waiter skills or responsibilities. The response is also 19 words below the required minimum, which limits the opportunity to cover all three bullet points fully. Add the missing information and develop your evidence of suitability to address the task more completely.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The letter has a recognisable format, with a greeting, several short paragraphs, and a closing, and the ideas generally follow a sensible order: application, experience, and interview request. This gives the reader a basic sense of progression. However, the paragraphs are not clearly organised around all the required points, and the current situation and interview availability are absent. Some links between ideas are awkward or repetitive, such as “I believe” appearing twice in the same paragraph and “also” at the end of a sentence where the connection is unclear. Use separate paragraphs for your current situation, suitability, and interview availability, and connect each point directly to the next.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant employment vocabulary, including “position,” “experience,” “performance,” “awards,” and “interview,” so the main purpose is understandable. However, the range is limited and several spelling errors make the letter look less controlled: “regrading,” “experiance,” “felid,” “achived,” “opertiunity,” “appriceate,” and “glade.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “make me perfect candidate” and “join your company for my growth.” Choose more precise, natural expressions for a job application, and proofread spelling carefully. For example, explain the specific service skills you have gained rather than relying on general claims about performance and growth.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, and the reader can generally follow your meaning. However, errors in sentence construction and grammatical forms remain noticeable. In “I am writing my a letter,” the possessive and article are incorrectly combined; “make me perfect candidate” needs an article; and “I would be glade, if you will arrange” has an incorrect conditional structure and unnecessary comma. Capitalisation is also inconsistent, as “i” should be “I.” These issues do not prevent understanding, but they reduce accuracy. Practise standard application-letter patterns, such as “I am writing to apply for…” and “I would be grateful if you could arrange…,” and check articles, verb forms, and punctuation.
