Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address the three requested points: you say you have completed a BA and are looking for work, describe your interest in serving customers and your patience, and state that you can attend an interview at any time. However, the application is brief and several points are only lightly developed; for example, you mention studying business but do not explain how this has prepared you for restaurant work or give practical examples of relevant experience. The response also falls 9 words short of the required 150-word minimum. Add a suitable greeting and closing, and expand on your current situation and specific customer-service strengths to make the application more complete and persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The ideas are generally relevant and follow a sensible broad order: your education and interest come first, followed by your suitability and interview availability. However, the response is presented as one continuous sequence rather than clearly organised paragraphs, so the reader has to work to distinguish the different parts of the application. Some links between ideas are also abrupt, particularly the move from your BA studies to customer recommendations. Use separate paragraphs for your current situation, relevant qualities, and availability, and connect supporting details more clearly. A conventional letter opening and closing would also help the response feel more complete and guide the reader through its purpose.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the main points, with relevant terms such as “serve customers,” “take their orders,” “polite,” and “patience.” However, the range is limited and some expressions are awkward or imprecise, which makes parts of the application less natural. For example, “get experience much better working physically gives me best experience” does not clearly express what kind of experience you want, while “recommend about it” is not a natural way to describe customers recommending a restaurant. Choose more precise job-application language and use natural collocations. This would make your suitability sound clearer and more professional without changing the ideas you want to express.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response relies mainly on simple sentence patterns, with a few attempts to combine ideas using clauses such as “because” and “Even if.” These attempts are not always controlled: “I'm very polite person, knows how to keep customers happy” has an incorrect article and an unclear subject–verb relationship, and “Even if customers can be rude remain polite” is missing punctuation and a clear clause structure. The opening also joins two complete ideas with a comma. These errors sometimes make the reader pause, although the overall message remains understandable. Practise building accurate sentences with clear subjects and verbs, and use full stops or conjunctions to separate complete ideas.
