Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address the main purpose by applying for a waiter position, explaining that you currently work as a relationship manager at MCB Bank, and saying you are available for an interview. However, the application is only partly developed: your suitability is described mainly as being a “hard worker” who behaves professionally, without examples of customer service, teamwork, or relevant skills. The opening, “Hey this is Zahid,” is too informal for a job application, and the reference to moving into “restaurant management” does not clearly match applying for a waiter role. A more formal letter that explains your motivation and gives specific evidence of your suitability would make the response more complete and convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response follows a broadly understandable order: it introduces you, states your current job, describes your suitability, and gives interview availability. This gives the reader the main information, but the ideas are crowded into one continuous paragraph and the progression is not consistently clear. For example, “I saw a local newspaper, In newspaper your company posts a position” repeats the same point, while “here is my details” does not clearly introduce a well-organised list or section. The final sentence combines availability, a possible interview time, and a closing thought without clear separation. Use distinct paragraphs for your application, experience and availability, and connect ideas with accurate, purposeful transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some vocabulary relevant to employment, including “relationship manager,” “professional behaviour,” and “interview,” so the reader can identify the context. However, the range is limited, and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, such as “divert my professional career,” “your respective restaurent,” and “maintaining all the sequence.” “Company’s decorum and policy” also sounds unnatural in this context. These choices sometimes make the intended meaning harder to follow, particularly when describing your suitability. Aim for precise, conventional application language and check spelling, including “restaurant.” More specific terms related to serving customers and working in a team would also help you describe your strengths.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response communicates its basic message, but grammatical control is inconsistent and the sentence structures are mostly simple or joined together without clear boundaries. Errors include “I am currently work” instead of a correctly formed present-tense verb, and “When you call me for interview … I’m available anytime,” where the conditional structure and article use need attention. Capitalisation and punctuation are also unreliable, as in “In newspaper” and the long final sentence, which contains several ideas without appropriate sentence breaks. These recurring errors can make the reader pause to interpret the message. Practise accurate present and past forms, articles, and complete sentences, then use a few controlled complex structures to express availability and experience.
