Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
The letter clearly addresses all three requested points: you explain that you are studying mathematics at a local college, describe relevant qualities such as being friendly and able to work under pressure, and give specific interview availability. The purpose is clear from the opening, and the closing is appropriate for a formal application. Your suitability is supported with several relevant details, including teamwork and willingness to receive training, although these claims could be made more convincing with a brief example or a specific account of any customer-facing experience. Overall, the response fulfils the task clearly; developing the evidence behind your strengths would make the application more persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The information is organised in a clear sequence: application purpose, current studies, suitability, interview availability, and closing. Separate paragraphs make each stage easy to identify, and linking expressions such as “Currently,” “In addition,” and “Although” help show how the ideas relate. The progression is logical throughout, and the reader can follow the letter without difficulty. To make the organisation more polished, vary the transitions slightly and ensure the final request for further information connects smoothly with the interview details. The paragraphing and overall flow are effective, though some connections remain fairly formulaic rather than especially flexible.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for a job application, including “suitable candidate,” “interacting with people,” “under pressure,” and “working hours.” These choices communicate the intended qualities and maintain an appropriately formal tone. However, spelling errors are noticeable, including “interesed,” “belive,” “commuinication,” and “flexoible,” and some expressions are not fully natural, such as “studying mathmatics depaertment” and “quick larner.” These errors reduce the accuracy and polish of the vocabulary, even though the meaning is generally recoverable. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations for education, work experience, and customer service to make your language more precise.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The letter includes a useful mix of simple and more complex sentence forms. For example, “Although I have limited experience in the restaurant industry, I am quick larner and willing to receive training” attempts a subordinate clause, while the sentence about studying and gaining experience expresses a clear relationship between ideas. However, grammatical control is uneven. In “I am very interesed this opportunity,” the preposition after “interested” is missing; “I am a student at a local collage, where I am studying mathmatics depaertment” has an incomplete grammatical pattern; and “Please let me know if you require and further information” contains an incorrect determiner. Review articles, prepositions, and sentence patterns, then proofread for punctuation and capitalisation.
