Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You identify the purpose of the letter, explain that you currently work as a waiter, give examples of relevant duties, and state that you are available next Monday. However, the response addresses the task only minimally: your suitability is asserted rather than explained, and the interview arrangement lacks detail, such as a time or flexibility. The required minimum of 150 words is not met, so the application is substantially underdeveloped. Expand on your experience, customer-service skills, and reasons you would suit this restaurant, then give a clear interview time or invite the employer to suggest one. A more complete formal closing would also help the letter feel finished.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The information follows a generally understandable order: you introduce yourself, mention your current work and experience, and finish with interview availability. This basic sequence helps the reader identify the purpose of the letter. However, nearly all the content is compressed into one paragraph, and the ideas are joined mainly with commas or simple links such as “so” and “as well.” This limits progression and makes the application feel like a list of points rather than a developed letter. Use separate paragraphs for your current situation and suitability, then interview availability and closing. Clear sentence boundaries and a few appropriate links, such as “In addition” or “I would be pleased to,” would improve the flow.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use basic vocabulary relevant to the application, including “waiter,” “work experience,” “position,” and “interview,” so the main message is understandable. However, the range is limited and some choices or spellings are inaccurate, including “dishwashing” as a description of suitability, “day to day restaurant task,” “menstioned,” and “news paper.” The phrase “I can do all the task” is also vague and does not show what you can contribute. Choose more precise employment language, such as describing customer service, teamwork, or handling orders, and check spelling and standard written forms. This would make the letter more professional and help communicate your strengths clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response relies almost entirely on short, simple statements, with little variety in sentence structure. Frequent errors in sentence boundaries, capitalisation, articles, and plurals make the writing less controlled: for example, “My name is Moh ,I am currently working as waiter” joins two sentences with a comma and omits an article before “waiter.” “I have relevant work experience as well i can do all the task” also needs clearer sentence structure and plural agreement. Use full stops to separate complete ideas, capitalise “I,” and check articles and plural nouns. Practising a few accurate complex forms, such as “Because I have experience…, I would be suitable,” would broaden the range.
