Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The letter addresses the main requirements: you explain that you currently work as a waitress in a hotel, give relevant reasons for your suitability, and request an interview within the next two weeks. Your experience with customers from different backgrounds and your management studies are useful supporting details. However, the suitability section is more developed than the explanation of your current situation, and some details about workplace harmony and duty allocation do not clearly show your own skills. The interview request is understandable, but it would be stronger to give specific days or times and make your availability more direct. A clearer statement of what you can contribute to this restaurant would make the application more complete and focused.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The reader can follow the broad sequence from your current job, to your experience, and then to interview availability. However, the letter is presented largely as one long paragraph, so the different points are not clearly separated. The opening line, “Application for the position,” also sits awkwardly between the greeting and the body. Linking words such as “furthermore” and “because of this” help connect ideas, but some connections are unclear, and the long sentence about duty allocation and the assistant manager contains several points at once. Use distinct paragraphs for your current role, suitability, and interview availability, and make each paragraph develop one main idea.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant vocabulary for an application, including “position,” “customers,” “management,” and “interview,” and the reader can generally understand your meaning. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make the letter less polished, such as “restuarant,” “palce,” “efficancy,” and “perfer.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise: “categories of people” and “rounding up with my current employers appointment” do not express your meaning clearly. Choose standard application language and check spelling carefully. More precise phrases for customer service, teamwork, and availability would help you describe your suitability with greater clarity and professionalism.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The letter includes both simple statements and attempts at longer, connected sentences, so you are trying to express relationships between your experience and suitability. However, control is uneven, particularly in the longer sentences. For example, “it is a good job which i enjoys doing because it expose me” has errors in subject–verb agreement, while “this help in the efficancy” also needs agreement. There are problems with articles and plurals in “one of the top hotel,” and sentence boundaries and capitalization are inconsistent. These errors sometimes make the reader pause, although the main message remains understandable. Practise accurate agreement and divide long sentences into shorter, complete clauses.
