Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You make a basic attempt to apply for the waiter position and mention relevant points: you have a diploma, two years’ experience in a five-star hotel, and are available for an interview. However, the response only minimally addresses the task. What you are currently doing is not clearly explained, and the interview point does not give a specific time or date. The statements about the restaurant selecting someone “on merit base” and having “no difficulties in your business” do not clearly support your application. The response is also 23 words below the 150-word minimum; the eight words copied from the task prompt are excluded from the count. Add clear, relevant details to fully cover each bullet point.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The reader can identify the general purpose of the letter, and the experience and interview information are grouped together to some extent. However, ideas are not arranged in a clear progression: the opening repeats the advertisement and restaurant information, while the application, suitability, and interview details run together without distinct paragraphs. Connections between ideas are also unclear, as in “I hope your taking a new comers on merit base; because you have select a profisnol.” Use a conventional letter structure: opening and purpose, current situation and relevant experience, then a specific interview availability and polite closing. Clear paragraphing and simpler links between related points would make the message easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some vocabulary relevant to applying for hospitality work, including “waiters and waitresses,” “diploma,” “experience,” and “interview.” This gives the reader a general sense of your qualifications. However, the range is basic and several spelling errors or unsuitable phrases make the letter less clear and professional, such as “advertisment,” “profisnol,” and “merit base.” Some expressions are also unnatural, including “I want ba job” and “I belong this area.” Choose accurate, conventional application language and check spelling carefully. For example, describe yourself as an experienced waiter and state that you are applying for the advertised position, rather than relying on unclear phrases.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts a few connected sentences, but sentence structures are very limited and grammatical errors occur frequently. These sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to understand. For example, “In my local aera has been started a new restaurent” lacks a clear subject and has an incorrect verb construction; “My experience have two years” has faulty agreement and phrasing; and “I want you have arrange the interveiw” does not form a correct clause. There are also problems with articles, sentence boundaries, and punctuation, including the greeting and long run-on sections. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then combine ideas using clear clauses such as “I have worked as a waiter for two years.”
