Student answer (Band 5.5)

As we very well everything in this world have their advantages and disadvantages also.So take a gap year after complete your school it’s maybe a good decision and bad also .On this we not give any specific opinion on this .For determination we discuss both for the better understanding.

If a student a decision to come back and start focusing on their studies and decide to resume the study,I think they meet with both educated/uneducated people in their gap year. So the seen the way of taking and speaking and also their behaviour.Maybe he start working on any point and the owner of this place is uneducated their don’t have manners it’s also the impacts on the thoughts of the students.Because the main difference between educated and uneducated is behaviour and humanity.

On other hand if the student decides to drop the studies that’s mean they have seen the uneducated people more successful as compared to educated. So that’s they decide this .

My opinion is that the decision is depends on the circumstances and struggle what’s they have seen in their gap year. For example my family start studying after 2 years because they face to much disrespect so that’s why they decided to resume their studies .

In my point of view it the good decision because we know that’s “education is the key of success”so doubt to experience this work is good but enjoy the this is good but we have to focus the education also .So that’s the moral is “we have to compete the education on the university level

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the topic but fails to maintain a clear position throughout. The introduction states that the writer will not give a specific opinion, which is a significant weakness for an 'extent' question. While the essay touches on the benefits and drawbacks of a gap year, the arguments are underdeveloped and often confusing. For instance, the discussion about 'educated vs. uneducated' people is unclear and does not directly relate to the benefits of a gap year for university preparation. The conclusion attempts to take a stance, but the overall development of ideas remains superficial and lacks logical support.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical progression of ideas is frequently interrupted by unclear phrasing and disjointed sentences. Cohesive devices are used in a very mechanical and often incorrect way, such as 'On this we not give any specific opinion' or 'So that’s they decide this'. The referencing is often ambiguous, making it difficult for the reader to follow the writer's train of thought. The transition between the idea of 'uneducated people' and the decision to drop out of university is abrupt and lacks a clear logical link.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'taking and speaking' (likely meaning 'talking') and 'compete the education' (likely meaning 'complete'). The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas, and the misuse of basic terms often impedes the clarity of the message. The writer struggles to use academic or formal language appropriate for an IELTS task, relying instead on simplistic and sometimes inaccurate phrasing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often cause difficulty for the reader. There are persistent issues with subject-verb agreement, sentence structure, and article usage (e.g., 'If a student a decision to come back', 'the decision is depends on'). The writer relies almost exclusively on simple sentence structures, and attempts at more complex sentences are consistently faulty. Punctuation is also problematic, with missing spaces after periods and commas. These errors are frequent and significantly impact the readability of the text.
