Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position in favor of taking a gap year. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention 'work experience' and 'travel,' the supporting arguments are repetitive and lack specific examples or depth. For instance, you mention 'life challenges' and 'maturate' (maturity) but do not explain how these are specifically fostered by a gap year. To improve, focus on providing concrete examples—such as how a specific job teaches time management or how travel builds cultural awareness—rather than repeating general statements about gaining knowledge.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the progression of ideas is often unclear due to awkward phrasing and a lack of logical flow between sentences. While you use cohesive devices like 'To begin with,' 'Furthermore,' and 'In conclusion,' they are sometimes used mechanically or inappropriately. The referencing is occasionally confusing, making it difficult for the reader to follow your train of thought. To improve, ensure that each sentence logically follows the previous one and that your cohesive devices serve to connect ideas rather than just acting as labels for paragraphs.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often inaccurate, which sometimes impedes communication. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'maturate' instead of 'maturity,' 'antic things' instead of 'antiquities' or 'historical sites,' and 'without loss the exams.' You rely on basic vocabulary and struggle to express more complex ideas precisely. To improve, focus on learning the correct forms of words (e.g., nouns vs. adjectives) and practice using collocations in context. Expanding your range of vocabulary related to education and personal development will also help you express your arguments more effectively.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often make the text difficult to read. There are persistent issues with verb tense, subject-verb agreement, and sentence structure (e.g., 'many younger individuals are choose to take,' 'there are young generation are have to take'). Many sentences are fragmented or lack proper structure, which hinders clarity. You rely almost exclusively on simple sentence structures, and attempts at more complex sentences are usually faulty. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically subject-verb agreement and the correct use of auxiliary verbs, before attempting more complex structures.
