Student answer (Band 6.0)

Education is essential part of human development, so nowadays every school goer wants a good education in a demanding field. But there is a trend growing in most of the youngsters, that they want to gain a real life experience of life before they choose next path of their journey of education.

As we know education has changed in last 10 years from normal known jobs to new career in AI technology, Data Science, EV vehicles etc. When a kid finishes school, he don't have any real life experience of outer world. His knowledge is only based on school studies, internet or friend circle. So this is a good practice to take a break of one year and explore the opportunities available in different arears. This is also helpful to make a right decision about career path.

I want to quote an example of myself. When I was in school, in my family and family friends have a lot of lawyers. So everybody suggests me become a lawyer. But my mind was not prepaid for law, court and this type pf work. So I asked my parent to give me one year to decide and that time I met with a local radio jockey. His work inspired me, he also point out my core strength of heavy and clear voice , which is suitable for this industry. So I dropped the idea to become lawyer and get my degree in Broadcasting and Journalism. Today I am successful in my radio profession.

So in the last I agree with this practice to take a year out between finishing school and starting university in order to get right path of career.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by clearly stating an agreement with the idea of taking a gap year. The position is maintained throughout the essay. The ideas are supported by a personal example, which is relevant and helps illustrate the argument. However, the development is somewhat limited; the essay relies heavily on a single personal anecdote rather than exploring broader societal or academic benefits. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the general advantages of a gap year, such as increased maturity, financial independence, or academic focus, rather than focusing solely on your own career path.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. There is a clear progression of ideas. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and limited. Phrases like 'As we know' and 'So in the last' are used to transition, but the connection between sentences could be more sophisticated. Additionally, some referencing is slightly unclear, such as the transition between the general discussion of AI and the personal anecdote. Improving the variety of linking words would enhance the flow of the argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the message to be conveyed clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'Broadcasting and Journalism' and 'career path'. However, there are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice, such as 'school goer', 'outer world', and 'prepaid' (likely meaning 'prepared'). The range is somewhat limited, and there is a reliance on basic vocabulary. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and academic vocabulary to express your ideas with greater nuance and sophistication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues (e.g., 'he don't have', 'everybody suggests me become') and article usage errors (e.g., 'essential part', 'in last 10 years'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with commas. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and article placement would significantly improve your accuracy.
