In modern era, taking a gap year to work or travel between school and university huge benefits students. This breaks build maturity, clear goals, and real work skills. When students return to school, They work harder and manage time better. Yet some risks also exist like lose pace , study delay. I partially agree with given statement. I will discuss my view points in the upcoming paragraphs.
First and foremost benefits is, when student take gap between study after school, it helps student to manage their time, Instead spending time on other thing they easily focus on their study. In other words, they have better experience after gap so students easily utilize their time on their study. In addition, They learn real work skills when they went out for travel to overseas or other state then they know how to work and which work provide high income and good reputation . For Example , nowadays, most of people after finishing schooling went out to overseas for travelling and learn real work skills and they know how to manage time for work and study. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both the benefits and risks of taking a gap year. The position is clear, and the essay is structured to cover both sides of the argument. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive and lacks depth. For instance, the argument regarding 'real work skills' is mentioned but not clearly explained or supported with specific, concrete examples. The conclusion summarizes the points well, but the overall development remains at a surface level, which limits the score. To improve, ensure that each main point is supported by a clear, logical explanation rather than just restating the idea in different words.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'First and foremost', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'In other words, they have better experience after gap so students easily utilize their time'. Additionally, some referencing is unclear, and the flow between sentences within paragraphs is occasionally disjointed. Improving the variety and precision of linking words would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. However, there is a lack of variety and precision. Phrases like 'huge benefits', 'good reputation', and 'not worthy' are somewhat simplistic. There are also instances of incorrect word choice or collocation, such as 'lose pace' instead of 'lose momentum' and 'put pressure on parents shoulders money'. To reach a higher band, the student should focus on using more academic collocations and precise vocabulary to convey their arguments with greater sophistication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'the gap... is plays'), missing articles, and incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'they become feel lazy to doing study'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary capitalization and comma usage errors. While the meaning is generally understandable, these persistent errors indicate a lack of control over complex structures. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would significantly improve the accuracy of the writing.
