Student answer (Band 5.0)

From past two year Many young students choose to take a year out between finishing school & starting University just to gain some work experience or some like to travel.I farmly believe this non-academic life offers benefits in each and every individual when they return to education.

I strongly believe students who take year for work experience or travel their mind are more strong they are more confident and they adopt more postivity .they knoew how the real world work they perpare thier self for up coming challenges .For example most of the students in china took year or two gape in order to gain work or real life experience and when they return to the universty thier attitude is change more postive to wards studies and confidient where as taking gape from studies is not neccessry most of the people don't do that but that desn't mean that they are less confidient. They are focusing on their studies and by education they also become the nobel member of society . eduaction is most important part of life but if we compare the student who take year gap and those who don't then both need to facus both have their benefits choosing break from studies and exploring world is also equaly important to those who countiune studies. But some times their are some finacial problems when students taje this dision.

In conclusion I believe work and education both are really very important to the students life one give them real life experience and other trained them to be the good member of the society .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing the benefits of a gap year. However, the development of ideas is inconsistent. While you mention confidence and real-world experience, the argument becomes muddled when you pivot to discussing those who do not take a gap year, which detracts from the focus of your position. The conclusion is brief and does not fully synthesize the main points. To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on a single, well-supported idea that directly relates to your stance, and avoid introducing contradictory or irrelevant points that weaken your overall argument.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks a clear structure. Paragraphing is insufficient, with the main body of the argument compressed into a single, dense block. The use of cohesive devices is limited and often mechanical, such as the repetitive use of 'and' to join clauses. Transitions between ideas are abrupt, making it difficult for the reader to follow the logical progression of your argument. To reach a higher band, you should use clear topic sentences for each paragraph and employ a wider range of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in contrast') to connect your ideas more fluidly.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is generally basic and repetitive. There are frequent spelling errors, such as 'farmly' for 'firmly', 'knoew' for 'know', 'perpare' for 'prepare', 'thier' for 'their', and 'facus' for 'focus'. These errors occasionally impede readability. While you attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'non-academic life' and 'financial problems', the overall range is limited. To improve, focus on learning the correct spelling of common academic words and try to incorporate more precise synonyms to avoid repeating simple terms like 'good' or 'important'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that affect the clarity of your writing. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'their attitude is change'), incorrect word order, and missing articles. Sentence structures are mostly simple, and attempts at complex sentences often contain errors in punctuation or clause construction. For example, the run-on sentences throughout the text make it difficult to identify where one thought ends and another begins. Focusing on basic sentence construction, correct verb tenses, and proper punctuation will significantly improve your score in this criterion.
