Student answer (Band 5.5)

This days a leraner usually take a gap for about one year before commencing their tertiatery level, immediately from higer school. This will groom youths with real life work experiences and also enjoy travelling. i strongly agree upon the statement as it is beneficial for students where they are learning about thier life and interest.

The study gap is mainly importance for children to take break from busy preparing schedules and hectic studying process in the school, while not only this the break really allows all students to spent time in thier own ways where by this way, some how prepares them for choosing their interest in life. This is because when they are freely left some of them choose to work partime while others might go for trip eventually discovering their own interest and talent individually. Therefore when they come back for further studies learners can identify about their life and professions. For an example a youth working partime at computer repair shop during school hollidays, later there is chances of becoming soft ware engineer after completion of studies.

Having said that, there are also some misbehavioral issues and social problems while students are on holliday because they have plenty of time to ingage in all sort of activities along freinds company so they land in bringing this kind of problems but to be fact this case are limitted and can be reduced if their parent play a vital role in educating children and enrolling them into some skills trainings or interships so that they will learn and grow which will be helpful in the university. Example, many parents in Australia recruits thir children in partime jobs like working in KFC or Hungry Jack. Therefore i extensively agree that the students break during study is paramount way to teach real life environments outside classrooms.

In conclusin, Though their may be certain problems during hollidays for children after higher school but there are major positive sides upbringing chilldren with role of life career in future.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The student addresses all parts of the task by discussing both the benefits of taking a gap year and acknowledging potential drawbacks before taking a clear stance. The position is maintained throughout the essay. Ideas are extended and supported, such as mentioning part-time work like computer repair or working at KFC to illustrate how experiences shape future career paths. However, there is a tendency to over-generalise in parts, and some arguments regarding social problems could be more fully developed. Overall, the response meets the criteria for Band 6.0 as it directly addresses the prompt with relevant ideas, though some areas remain slightly under-developed or repetitive.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt to structure the response into an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used, separating the introduction, the benefits, the drawbacks with parental roles, and the conclusion. However, cohesion is often faulty or mechanical, with awkward transitions such as 'while not only this' and 'To be fact this case are limitted'. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and cohesive devices are not always used naturally, which places the response firmly in Band 5.5 to 6.0 territory. Progression is discernible, but mechanical linking limits higher scoring.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The student attempts less common vocabulary such as 'commencing', 'tertiatery', 'higer school', and 'paramount', but these attempts are frequently accompanied by spelling errors (e.g., 'leraner', 'thier', 'hollidays'). The vocabulary range is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to communicate their main ideas about taking a gap year, work experience, and travel. However, noticeable spelling and word-choice errors, such as 'ingage' and 'chilldren', recur throughout the text, restricting the lexical score to Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, for example using subordinate clauses like 'This is because when they are freely left some of them choose to work partime...' However, there are frequent grammatical errors, incorrect verb forms, and punctuation issues throughout the response, such as subject-verb agreement errors ('their parent play') and missing articles. These errors require some effort from the reader to parse, though they do not completely impede overall communication. This level of control corresponds to a Band 5.0.
