Student answer (Band 6.0)
After finishing school, many individuals tend to take a gap year before starting their higher studies in order to figue out their interesets or to gain hand on experiences in technical and practial work. I belive its a beneficial practice, unless it is prolonged.
The fresh school gradauates are usually between 18 to 20 years. And this time they are in the peak of their teenage era, so they think its better to take a short break and actually figure out their own genuine career oriented goals, since they are just being introduced to different realms like engineering, techology, arts, natural and social sciences. It helps them to unwind to traditional school teaching and to comprehend how real and practical life works. Sometimes they tend to intern with their parents and family businesses so they can familiarize themselves with actuall challenges in a work field.
While many students think that once their university will start, they barely would have free time, so they take a year off to fulfill their own dreams like travelling, unravelling new skills and hobbbies. For example, many students engage themselves in singing, sports and instrumnetal classes. It is a common notion to make yourself relax and enjoy the perks of life before actually getting into the hectic reoutine. Futhermore, many students want to study abroad so they puroposely take a break to spend more time with their families.
In my opinion, whether you are taking time off for enhancing your work experiences or to unwind yourselves from hectic routine, its benficial as long as it is not continued for a long period of time. If it continues , it can make you lazy and procastinate all over the things. And you can easily get out of your shape and rythym.
In conclusion, taking a year break before starting university has significant advnatages but one should keep check on the timeline of their lifves, so they do not waste their precious time unncessarily.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The student addresses all parts of the task, presenting a clear position throughout the essay. The idea that a gap year is beneficial as long as it is not prolonged is supported with relevant points regarding career goals, practical work experience, and personal development. However, some arguments lack full extension and tend to be slightly repetitive in later paragraphs. The position is well-maintained, and examples such as interning with family businesses or engaging in arts and sports provide satisfactory support. This performance aligns comfortably with the Band 6 descriptors, as all parts of the task are addressed, though some ideas remain slightly under-developed.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction and conclusion. Paragraphing is used sufficiently to separate distinct ideas, such as professional experience versus personal exploration. However, cohesion is sometimes faulty or mechanical, with transitional errors like 'And this time they are in the peak' and occasional abrupt shifts between sentences. Referencing is generally clear, but logical progression within paragraphs could be smoother. The use of cohesive devices is evident, although occasionally awkward. This places the response firmly in the Band 6 category for Coherence and Cohesion.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common items such as 'genuine career oriented goals' and 'familiarize themselves'. However, there are numerous spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, including 'figue' for figure, 'interesets' for interests, 'hand on' for hands-on, 'belive' for believe, 'actuall' for actual, 'puroposely' for purposely, 'benficial' for beneficial, 'procastinate' for procrastinate, and 'advnatages' for advantages. While these errors do not severely impede communication, their frequency prevents the score from reaching a higher band. The lexical control reflects Band 5.5 to 6.0; given the attempts at less common vocabulary combined with spelling slips, a Band 6.0 is appropriate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The writer employs a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some control over structure with clauses like 'whether you are taking time off for enhancing your work experiences or to unwind yourselves from hectic routine'. However, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation, such as missing articles ('at the peak'), subject-verb agreement issues ('once their university will start'), and punctuation slips. While these errors do not impede overall communication, they occur regularly. The grammatical control is characteristic of Band 5.5 to 6.0, fitting the Band 6 profile for a mix of structures and non-impeding errors.
