Student answer (Band 4.5)
Number of students take a gap year after the end of college and join university one year later for the sake of work and travel experience additionally for the prepration of practical life.I am totally disaggree with this situation. It seems to me that , if once we leave study for work or any other thing then, we can not able to start our studies with same passion.
To begin, from my prespective one main reason is that if we get completly cut of by studies duee to this we loose our concepts. However, human memory becomes fade fade over the time. For instance ,i have a friend sunil who starts his university life after gap year with me .I was a fresher . I felt numerous lack in his concept. he had to spend twice time to pic the concept that i could understand with in few mintues.
For further extension, the second reason is that if we took gap year then we lost the chance to secure addmission in the best universites . Most of the universities do not accept the gap . Therefore the merit also increases per year . For example, we can see a clear difference at the last ten-year merit lists of the the Punjab university. University of the Punjab also detuct the two percent of merit of the student who take the gap year .
In conclusion , it is necssery to avvoid gap year or start a part time job if face the financial proble

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The student addresses the task by taking a clear stance against gap years and attempts to provide reasons to support this position. However, the development of ideas is limited and sometimes hindered by weak argumentation and over-generalisation. For example, the claim that most universities do not accept gap years is factually inaccurate for the vast majority of mainstream academic institutions, which weakens the persuasiveness of the response. Furthermore, the final paragraph trails off incomplete due to finishing abruptly. These issues place the response at Band 5.0, as the ideas are under-developed and the task is only partially addressed in a convincing manner.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The response shows an attempt at paragraphing, with distinct sections for an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, overall progression is disrupted by mechanical and sometimes confusing cohesive devices. Phrases like 'To begin, from my prespective one main reason is that' and 'For further extension' feel unnatural and are used clumsily. Additionally, referencing is occasionally unclear, and the lack of a completed conclusion disrupts the logical flow of the final part of the text. Because of these organizational shortcomings and inadequate cohesive management, a band score of 5.0 is appropriate.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.0
The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, frequently impeded by spelling mistakes and awkward word choices. Examples include 'prepration' instead of preparation, 'disaggree', 'prespective', 'completly cut of', 'duee', 'fade fade', 'addmission', 'universites', 'detuct', 'necssery', and 'avvoid'. The writer attempts some less common terms like 'practical life' and 'merit lists', but these are undermined by frequent lexical errors and inaccurate collocations. This vocabulary profile aligns with Band 4.0, where errors consistently strain the reader and the range of vocabulary remains basic.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The essay displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, with frequent errors occurring in almost every sentence. There are persistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'Number of students take', 'sunil who starts', 'University of the Punjab also detuct'), missing articles, awkward phrasing ('we can not able to start'), and punctuation errors. Complex structures are attempted but are frequently faulty. Because errors are frequent, repetitive, and occasionally impede the reader's understanding, the grammar is reflective of a Band 4.0 performance.
