Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent days, many individual choose to take a year out before starting university in order to gain experience or to travel. The non-academic life experience is fruitful for individuals, when they return to education. I firmly, agree with this approach because it gave lucky chance to students to explore themselves and find their interest.
A significant proportion of students prefer to take a year out between finishing their school and starting university and this approach is beneficial for them in several ways. Such as, it provide them an opportunity to travel all over the world and also help students to find their intereset. Moreover, some students utilise this leisure time to do some works for experience and explore edudational streams on the aspect of future opportunities. For instance, travelling in other parts of the world help learners to explore different cultures and learn about their traditions. Additionally, travelling provide them a lucky chance to ehance their thinking boundaries and explore the world with different perspective. Hence, taking a short-break between secondary education and gradutation it fruitful for students and help thewm to know more about themselves or their capablities.
However, there are some drawbacks of this approach such as, students loose their interest because after a long gap they face some difficulties to return on studies and some time students changed their mindsets due to some other reasons like getting better opportunities without higher education and some other famil problems may be the the main factor. A good example of this can be a student who start part-time work after their schooling to gain experience but after that he find good opportunities in this same field then he prefer that opportunity over his higher studies and it take him away from their student life.
In conclusion, it can be said that both type of approach are fruitful for students in their own aspects. But i strongly believe that a short-gap between schooling and university is beneficial for individuals due to its numerous benefits, such as its help learners to ehhance their knowledge and find their interset.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both the advantages and potential drawbacks of taking a gap year before university, ultimately presenting a clear position. The student states, 'I firmly, agree with this approach,' and supports this view with relevant ideas such as personal exploration, cultural awareness, and gaining work experience. However, some ideas are slightly repetitive and under-developed, particularly in the second paragraph where points regarding travel and work are listed without deep elaboration. The counter-argument paragraph is present, noting drawbacks like losing interest or finding alternative employment, which adds balance to the discussion. Overall, the task is adequately addressed, aligning well with the expectations for Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is utilised to separate the main advantages and the counter-arguments. However, cohesion is sometimes faulty or mechanical. For instance, the use of transition markers like 'Such as,' at the start of a sentence is grammatically awkward, and referencing is occasionally unclear, such as 'both type of approach' in the conclusion when only one stance is ultimately supported. Logical progression is present, but the organizational links between sentences could be smoother. These features correspond to a Band 6.0 level.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student demonstrates an adequate vocabulary range for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'fruitful,' 'leisure time,' and 'gradutation.' However, there are numerous noticeable spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, including 'individual' instead of 'individuals,' 'intereset' and 'ehhance' (misspellings), and 'loose' instead of 'lose.' The phrase 'thinking boundaries' is also slightly unnatural in collocation. While these errors do not severely impede communication, they restrict the lexical score to a Band 5.5, as precision and control are inconsistent.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some attempt at subordination and relative clauses, such as '...students who start part-time work after their schooling to gain experience...'. Nevertheless, there are frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues like 'many individual choose' and 'travelling provide,' as well as punctuation and preposition errors ('on the aspect of' instead of 'in terms of'). Complex structures frequently contain errors, and awkward phrasing such as 'it gave lucky chance' reduces the overall control. This performance fits comfortably within Band 5.5.
