Student answer (Band 5.0)
Many young people from all over the world choose to get break from their school and go to university to have hands on experience or they go to vocations to fresh their minds.
I agree as well as disagree do to some reasons i will explain that why it is benificial and harmful for school students.
First i will explain that why i agree with this, actually boys and girls in their teen age are very energetic and they want to do every thing as soon as possible, which is really great. Travelling and university environment helps students to understand things deeply. It makes their observation and analytical thinking strong, make them independent and well groomed as well as they learn how to manage money, relationships with friends. In time of any problem or mishappening how to act,and how to tackle with problems. So,when they come back to their institute from it ,they come back with great exposure and experience.
If, i talk about its negative sight, then their are certain reasons.Students of school take their descions without any information with is not fine.It makes student arrogant and selfish. Moreover, leaving school studies in the way , and going to university or for travelling, its not good.It will weak their basics weak because they have spend their times in other activities. If schools give their students summer holidays, then why not students should do other leisures in that time.Students should understand the prioities of school studies first to get rid of distractions.
In conclusion,i would like to say that , holidays and other extra activities make teeagers powerful, but when they get free time during their education.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The student attempts to address the prompt by discussing both the positive and negative aspects of taking a gap year, stating in the introduction that "I agree as well as disagree." However, the position is not consistently maintained or clearly articulated. While the writer touches on relevant ideas such as maturity, independence, and financial management, these points are somewhat superficial and confused by misconceptions in the prompt (e.g., confusing taking a gap year with going to university early or dropping out). Ideas are under-developed and lack specific examples. The response addresses the task only partially, which aligns with Band 5.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The text is divided into paragraphs, including an introduction, a body paragraph for advantages, a body paragraph for disadvantages, and a brief conclusion. However, the overall progression is difficult to follow due to poor formatting, repetitive phrasing, and abrupt shifts in logic. Cohesive devices are used rather mechanically, such as "First i will explain" and "In conclusion, i would like to say that". Referencing is frequently unclear, particularly with pronouns like "it" and "their" used ambiguously. Overall, the organizational structure shows basic attempts at paragraphing but lacks clear logical progression, fitting the Band 5 descriptors.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited and repetitive, with noticeable errors that occasionally impede understanding. Words are frequently misused, such as "vocations" instead of "vacations" or "fresh their minds" instead of "refresh". Spelling and word choice errors appear throughout the text, including "benificial", "descions", and "weak" instead of "weaken". While the student attempts some less common vocabulary such as "observation and analytical thinking" and "exposure and experience", the high frequency of inaccurate word choices and basic phrasing restricts the score to a Band 5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty, leading to run-on sentences and punctuation errors. Examples include comma splices and missing capitalization, as seen in "First i will explain that why i agree with this, actually boys and girls..." Grammatical inaccuracies are frequent, including subject-verb agreement errors like "their are certain reasons" and incorrect verb forms like "it will weak their basics weak". These persistent errors cause some difficulty for the reader and reflect a Band 5 level of grammatical control.
