Student answer (Band 5.0)
In today world, young individuals take a break between ending schol and starting university to gain work experience and to travel .this experience offer them benefits white they return back to education.i strongly agree with this notion, because it expand their skills and also their knowledge in practical terms.
On the one hand , the experience of no academy life is better and provide lot of benefits to students includes their competency and knowlege for example after completing the nursing schol students goes to clinical fields to work exposures.therfore it increase their work efficiency and accuracy too.
On the other hands ,gap allow to them free frm study and gain good time to develop their skills and seek new works and become master of that. For instance enginner students offer intership after completing degre they travel a lot during these days and gain good work experience.. therefore the experience of non academic life offers lot of benefits to the students in further education in future.
In conclusion it is clear frm the above points discussion that gap between the academic year is important to make more skillful and more experience in their skills..

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The student has addressed the prompt by expressing a clear position of strong agreement with the statement that taking a gap year benefits students when they return to education. However, the response falls significantly short of the required 250 words, containing only 192 words. This under-length issue directly impacts task achievement, as the ideas are limited and lack the full development expected at higher bands. While the writer attempts to provide examples regarding nursing students and engineering students, these points remain under-developed and generalise rather than fully support the thesis. Consequently, the response aligns best with Band 5 descriptors for Task Achievement due to its limited length and under-developed ideas.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay displays a basic structure with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the organization is hindered by poor paragraphing, lack of clear overall progression, and awkward mechanical cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hands'. Referencing and logical linking are frequently faulty, leading to disjointed transitions between sentences, as seen in 'therfore it increase their work efficiency and accuracy too'. Paragraphing is attempted but fails to create a smooth, coherent flow of ideas. These features match the characteristics of Band 5, where some organizational structure is present, but progression is unclear and cohesive devices are inadequate or inaccurate.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The lexical range is limited and minimally adequate for the task. The student attempts some topic-specific vocabulary such as 'experience', 'university', 'intership', and 'competency', but these are undermined by noticeable spelling and word choice errors, including 'schol', 'knowlege', 'enginner', and 'frm'. There is also heavy repetition of basic phrases like 'non academic life' and 'work experience'. While the vocabulary allows the writer to convey a basic message, frequent errors in spelling and word formation cause some difficulty for the reader and prevent the text from achieving a Band 6.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The grammatical range is very limited, relying heavily on simple sentences and basic structures. When the student attempts complex sentences, they are frequently faulty and fraught with errors, such as missing articles, incorrect prepositions, and severe punctuation mistakes (e.g., spacing errors around commas and periods, lowercase letters at the start of sentences like 'this experience offer them...'). Subject-verb agreement errors are also present, such as 'gap allow to them free frm study'. Because errors are frequent throughout the text and simple structures predominate with persistent grammatical inaccuracies, the response earns a Band 5 for grammatical range and accuracy.
