Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by presenting a clear position agreeing that taking a gap year benefits students when returning to education. Relevant ideas are introduced, such as the advantages to physical and mental health, gaining real-world experience, and a personal example involving an elder brother. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others, while parts of the argument remain somewhat under-developed or repetitive. The points regarding societal challenges and personal growth are touched upon but lack deeper extension and specific analysis, which keeps the development at a moderate level suitable for this task achievement standard.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The text presents a coherent overall arrangement and attempts to connect ideas, but the structural execution is significantly hindered by the lack of paragraphing. The entire response is written as a single, continuous block of text, which makes the progression of ideas feel mechanical and difficult to follow. Referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly with pronouns like 'this thing' and 'thier', and cohesive devices are basic or repetitive. While there is a logical flow from the initial stance to supporting reasons and a personal anecdote, the absence of proper paragraph breaks and more sophisticated transitional phrases prevents a clearer logical organization throughout.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The writer demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common vocabulary related to education and career, such as 'mechanical engineering', 'organization', and 'fantasy word'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, including 'yome' for time, 'kuch' for much, 'menatl' for mental, 'daliy' for daily, 'tiok' for took, 'adisaion' for admission, and 'grothw' for growth. While these spelling and lexical inaccuracies occur frequently, they do not severely impede overall communication, as the reader can still grasp the intended meaning of the arguments and the personal example provided.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response shows a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting longer structures through coordination and subordination, such as in the sentences describing the brother's experience. There are some errors in grammar and punctuation, including missing articles, subject-verb agreement issues ('a students must have', 'the student get'), pronoun confusion ('her school' referring to the brother), and run-on sentence structures lacking appropriate terminal punctuation. Despite these persistent errors in punctuation and basic grammatical patterns, the meaning is generally conveyed and they rarely entirely impede communication, reflecting a foundational control over sentence construction.
