Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is considered by many people that students take drop out for one years between finishing school and starting university in order to gain work experience or to travel.I personally think that, this gap offers benifits to students of non-experience life when they return back to education.

To commence with, there are lots of benefits of this given statement. To predominant one is,student can visit and see the real world while travelling and visiting place they want. For example they can spend their time in nature and get a chance to meet people with different mindset and thoughts. Following experience help them to behave and talk to people in future companies or give speech in group. Moreover, while working they get knowledge of particular work and even they might not get job after studying then the can start their own work and be sucessful in life.

Further explaining my views, their are some drawback also to explain one is, Gap in schooling year make student mind challenging and unadaptional to cover that their classmate went one year further . While Guardians also gets trouble while thinking about their children future and result they may faces in future. To conclude that i will personally tells them to take diploma and visit university of different country in that case they can tour and get educational values .

In conclusion, I completely agree that student must take one year gap and tour and travel to gain experience of different perspective mind even some kind of work. At last it has some drawback but it doesnot effect much and advantages outweigh it.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position regarding gap years and their benefits, but the ideas remain limited and under-developed. For instance, the writer mentions that travelling allows students to 'spend their time in nature and get a chance to meet people with different mindset', but this point is not fully extended with strong examples or robust reasoning. Similarly, the counterargument concerning drawbacks is briefly touched upon with phrases like 'Gap in schooling year make student mind challenging and unadaptional', but these concepts are underdeveloped and obscure the central argument. To move to a higher level, the writer needs to fully develop each main idea with comprehensive explanations, clearer supporting evidence, and a more fully realised line of argument throughout the essay.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay displays some overall organization with standard transitional markers such as 'To commence with', 'Moreover', and 'In conclusion', but it lacks a clear and consistent overall progression. Cohesive devices are sometimes inaccurate or awkward, as seen in the phrase 'To predominant one is', which disrupts the natural flow of ideas. Paragraphing is attempted, with the body and conclusion separated, but referencing within the text is not always clear, particularly in sentences like 'Following experience help them to behave...'. To achieve a stronger level of coherence, the writer must ensure that sentences flow logically from one to the next using accurate and varied cohesive devices, while maintaining a clear and seamless progression of ideas from the introduction through to the final conclusion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task, containing noticeable errors that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. There are frequent lexical and word-form errors, such as 'benifits', 'non-experience life', 'sucessful', and 'unadaptional'. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, including 'perspective mind' and 'educational values', but inappropriate word choices and spelling mistakes impede precise communication. To improve this criterion, the writer should focus on expanding their lexical repertoire, ensuring correct word forms, mastering common collocations, and paying closer attention to standard spelling to express ideas more accurately and naturally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response demonstrates a limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on simple constructions alongside faulty attempts at complex sentences. There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('student take drop out', 'Guardians also gets trouble'), missing or incorrect articles, and awkward prepositions or tense usage, such as 'then the can start their own work' and 'doesnot effect much'. These frequent errors can cause some difficulty for the reader and distract from the argument. To progress, the writer needs to practice constructing accurate complex sentences, improve control over basic grammatical agreements, and carefully proofread their work to eliminate frequent slips.
