Student answer (Band 5.0)

Many students go for a year out or a gap year after their school life before going to university in order to gain experience in desirable feilds, learn some useful works, and make their time fruit full by visiting new places around the world . Honestly speaking i totally agreed with this opinion of gaining experience in such things that helps to later on in your personal and work life .

When a student took a gap year and want to learn some tool like about AI, mechanics, science and some other feilds like human behavior, money and about nature while traveling these things ultimately become very useful for him that make his life more smooth and calm full every time when he has to cope with unfavourable situations in his life

As we all know that it is the age of Al , internet and more advanced technology everyday is bocome more advanced as it processed . That is why these skill are more beneficial for everyone because we can use them in any field of our lifes in work in business and also in families to make our lives more productive .

Other fields like machines, psychology, Human nature are also of same importance in our life .

On the other side of travelling around the world meet new people knowing about their culture, their way of living their foods would develop a great attitude of recreaction in us because in this way we overcome our insecurities of shyness and introvert attitude and watch the world more clearly.

In conclusion, i would say that taking a gap year for character development is not a bad thing especially when it used precisely and turning the favours for our side

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you strongly support taking a gap year, and you give relevant reasons involving practical skills, personal development and travel. The examples of learning about technology, psychology and other cultures show an attempt to explain how non-academic experiences could help young people. However, the response only partly develops the task. It does not clearly explain how these experiences benefit students specifically when they return to education, and several claims—such as making life “more smooth and calm”—remain general. Develop two or three main reasons with specific links to university study, such as improved independence, motivation or communication skills, and support them with a concrete example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has an introduction, several supporting points and a conclusion, so the reader can identify its general direction. However, progression between ideas is not consistently clear: the discussion moves from learning technical skills to technology, then to other fields and travel without a well-defined paragraph structure. Some linking phrases, including “As we all know” and “On the other side,” do not clearly show the relationship between the points that follow. Group related ideas into separate paragraphs—for example, practical learning and travel—and begin each with a clear topic sentence. Then use linking expressions to show how each reason supports your position, rather than adding points as a list.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “gap year,” “work experience,” “unfavourable situations,” “insecurities” and “character development.” These choices show some effort to express ideas beyond basic statements. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, such as “useful works,” “fruit full,” “calm full” and “attitude of recreaction.” Spelling and word-form errors, including “feilds” and “bocome,” also distract the reader. Aim for precise, natural phrases and check spelling carefully. For example, describe gaining “practical skills” or “broadening cultural awareness,” rather than relying on vague expressions such as making time “fruit full.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You try to use longer sentences to explain causes and results, particularly in the paragraph beginning “When a student took a gap year.” This shows an attempt to connect ideas, but complex sentences are often difficult to follow because of errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and punctuation. For example, “When a student took a gap year and want” shifts tense and does not maintain agreement, while “these skill are” has a plural agreement error. Several sentences run on without clear punctuation, especially the long sentence about learning skills while travelling. Use a mix of shorter, controlled sentences and longer structures, and check that subjects and verbs agree and that each sentence has a clear boundary.
