Student answer (Band 5.5)
Many peoplr beleive that, taking a gap of 1 year after completing school and starting university in order to get work expeience or to travel. This type of practices helps in non-academic life and it benefits individuals when they returned to the education. I agree this statement because they get the proper time of relaxation and can focus gradually.
The primary reason to take a break is students can gain work experience. with the help of that they can get better jobs and they can learn how to manage money in any condition. They can get the internship and skill developing courses.they can learn how to communicate with others, manage money and can solve problems by ourself. These skills is used in both of the academic and non academic field. For example, a student who works in a delivery or in a restaurant he/she knows how to deal with customers and follow the instruction and works as part of team.In addition they can get the knowledge and easily communicate with others. With the help of that they can perform better in their studies.
On the other hand, Travelling during a gap year can helps students to understand different culture and lifestyles of them.they can meet new peoples, learn the new things and become oopen minded. More over, this break can help to decide their interests and future goals. they can become more independent and responsible. For instance, they can get knowledge about to have a business related to their desired ones or work in there also. They can get motivated for their coming days and do their work faithfully.
In conclusion, this canhelp people for their better paths and who want to study they can get more knowledge and who are trying to develop their own field they canget some gap andcontinue their study.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear in the introduction: you agree that a gap year can benefit students, and you discuss both work experience and travel. The examples of working in a restaurant or delivery role and meeting people from different cultures are relevant to the topic. However, the reasons are often asserted rather than fully explained. For instance, you say work experience helps students “perform better in their studies,” but do not show specifically how workplace skills transfer to university learning. The point about relaxation and gradual focus, introduced as a main reason, is not developed in the body. The conclusion also becomes unclear when it refers to people developing “their own field.” Develop each main idea with a clearer explanation and keep the position consistent.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs about work and travel, and a conclusion. This helps the reader identify the two main benefits, and transitions such as “On the other hand” and “In conclusion” signal paragraph roles. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes loose: several benefits are listed without showing how one leads to the next, and the final sentence is difficult to follow. Linking phrases such as “In addition” and “With the help of that” are repeated or used mechanically, while references such as “that” and “them” do not always make their meaning clear. Improve cohesion by organising each paragraph around one central claim, then explaining and illustrating it, and use more precise references and transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “work experience,” “internship,” “communicate,” “independent,” and “responsible.” These choices allow you to discuss both employment and travel, but the range is limited and several expressions are inaccurate or unnatural, sometimes making the meaning less clear. Examples include “this type of practices,” “skill developing courses,” “become open minded,” and “knowledge about to have a business.” Spelling errors such as “peoplr,” “beleive,” and “expeience” also reduce accuracy. Aim to learn common word partnerships and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise vocabulary would help you explain how practical experience and travel prepare students for university and adult life.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including examples introduced with “For example” and “For instance,” but control is inconsistent. Errors in verb forms and agreement appear in phrases such as “Travelling … can helps,” “These skills is used,” and “when they returned to the education.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also unreliable: “courses.they” joins sentences without a space, while several sentences begin with lowercase letters after full stops. Some longer constructions, particularly the final sentence, are difficult to understand because clauses are not clearly connected. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, verb forms after modal verbs, and sentence punctuation. Building complex sentences from shorter, correct clauses will improve clarity and control.
