Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you agree that a break can benefit students, and you give relevant reasons about practical life skills and cultural understanding. The Dubai trip and later interaction with a client provide a personal example that supports your second point. However, the discussion is only partly developed: the home-repair example illustrates a limitation of academic study, but you do not explain specifically how a year away would prepare students for university or improve their later learning. The conclusion repeats your view without drawing the reasons together. The response is also four words below the required minimum, so it does not meet the task’s length requirement. Develop each reason with clearer explanation and ensure the response reaches the required length.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting reasons, and a conclusion. Phrases such as “On other hand” signal a shift to a second point, and the examples are placed alongside the ideas they support. However, progression within sentences and between ideas is often difficult to follow because several points are joined into long, loosely connected strings. For instance, the first body paragraph moves from daily life to education and home repair without clearly explaining the links. Referencing is also unclear in places, such as “which we can use in our professional life.” Use shorter sentences, make each paragraph’s main point explicit, and connect examples back to that point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “work experience,” “professional life,” “culture,” and “client,” and the Dubai example shows an attempt to discuss a specific real-world benefit. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make meaning unclear, such as “tackle daily basis,” “learn new this,” and “the client for background from Dubai.” Spelling errors, including “exprience,” “cluture,” and “becasue,” are also noticeable and reduce accuracy. Aim for precise phrases that express the intended idea, and check spelling carefully. Building a small set of topic vocabulary for practical skills, cultural awareness, and university readiness would help you explain your points more clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “which” and “because,” but these structures are often faulty, and frequent errors sometimes make the reader work to understand your meaning. Examples include “many people are discussing their should be break,” “students which has to travel,” and “after completeing of my school i have went.” There are recurring problems with subject–verb agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries. Punctuation is also weak: several sentences run together, particularly in the examples. Practise building accurate basic sentences first, then add one subordinate clause at a time. Check that each sentence has a clear subject and verb and that past events use consistent past-tense forms.
