Student answer (Band 4.5)

In this comtemporary society, most of people decides to do job and visit to other countries after finishing their studies for one year approximately to gain the experince which may assist them futher when they start their education again. In my opinion its good activity as it helps them to promot their knowledge in their studies.

I believe it is good option to take rest for almost one year from further studies to get experince of work or move to outside country. As individuale can focuse 100 percent to their work. For instance, if a person wants to work in digital companay, have to work for 8 to 9 hourse, can work very smoothly in a digital companay while continues to studies with job.It causes the workload, which may cause the stress for person.

Moreover, if any person wish to travel to other areas, should take break from their educational carrer for a year as it may assist to relaxe instead of rush over to their academic life. For example,

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You take a relevant position, saying that a year away is beneficial, and you give two related reasons: work can be demanding alongside study, and travel may provide a chance to relax. However, the response addresses the topic only partially. The work example is brief and does not explain how the experience would help someone when they return to university; the travel paragraph is unfinished after “For example,” and offers no supporting example. The conclusion and fuller discussion of the benefits to later education are also missing. The response is 84 words below the required minimum, which limits the opportunity to develop and support your ideas. Extend each reason with a specific example and explain its connection to university study and your position.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is a basic attempt to organise the response: the opening states your view, followed by separate paragraphs about work and travel. Linking expressions such as “For instance” and “Moreover” help signal examples and an additional point. However, progression is limited because the ideas are not fully explained, and the final paragraph stops at “For example,” leaving the discussion incomplete. The relationship between the experience gained during a year out and improved performance on returning to education is not clearly connected across the response. Develop each paragraph in a complete sequence—main idea, explanation, example, and link to the question—and add a concluding paragraph. This would make the organisation clearer and reduce the sense of abruptness.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use a small range of topic-related vocabulary, including “work experience,” “studies,” “workload,” “stress,” and “travel,” so the main subject is generally understandable. There are also attempts to express ideas beyond very basic statements, such as “gain the experience” and “academic life.” However, the vocabulary is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make the writing less clear, including “comtemporary,” “experince,” “futher,” and “promot.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “move to outside country” and “rush over to their academic life.” Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning natural collocations, for example “travel abroad” and “return to academic study.” More precise vocabulary would help explain the benefits rather than repeat general terms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple sentences and longer structures, including a reason clause with “as” and a conditional example beginning “if a person wants to work.” This shows some effort to vary sentence forms. However, the range remains limited, and frequent errors in sentence construction and agreement can make parts difficult to follow. For example, “most of people decides” has an agreement problem, while “As individuale can focuse…” is an incomplete sentence. The sentence beginning “For instance, if a person wants…” also lacks a clear main clause, and “if any person wish” does not maintain correct subject–verb agreement. Practise complete sentences, checking that each subordinate clause has a main clause and that verbs agree with their subjects.
