Student answer (Band 5.0)
in recent year , the non-acadmic life offers beniefit the peopl when they came back to education is very important issue .Some people think take 1 year break after finishing school and starting universty to gain work experince or to travel.,while i beleive student does not take a year break.this eassy i will give both my view and reason.
One one hand , there are sevral reason why people think to take a one year out after finishing school.firstly, i beleive take one year out make students lazy because during the study students follow daily routine. For example Students woke up early in the morning then went to school , during the day they spend time in class to learn about each subject after the came back to home and do the homewrk.secondly, one year break to gain experience work or travel ,it is diffcult task for student buse stduents did not have any experience of work or they do not have experice of traveling, they face money problem. For intence a stduent from pakistan travel to england, when he will travel to enhland he face many issue about calture ,language, food etc.
One the hand i belive take year year out is benifial but it have some draw bacv the main reason is one year gap change the daily routine of the student but in addition , student enjoy life , the travel diffent place to dicover new thing ,calture and food.
in conclusion ,although some people choose to take a year out after finishing school has some advantages, i think do not take a year out for work or travel after finishing school and starting universty.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You give a clear overall preference against taking a year out, and you mention relevant considerations such as disrupted routines, work experience, travel, and exposure to other cultures. However, the position is not consistently clear: the introduction says students should not take a break, while the second body paragraph begins, “I believe take year year out is beneficial,” before listing advantages. The discussion also does not fully explain how non-academic experience affects students when they return to education, which is central to the prompt. For example, the travel example focuses on difficulties with language and culture rather than showing how these experiences help or hinder later study. Develop each main reason with a clear explanation and a specific example, and make your position consistent throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has an identifiable introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, and signposts such as “firstly,” “secondly,” and “in conclusion” help readers recognise the stages of the argument. However, progression within and between paragraphs is not always clear. The repeated “One one hand” and “One the hand” do not accurately signal the relationship between the ideas, and the second body paragraph shifts from disadvantages to benefits without explaining the contrast. Some sentences also run together, making the example about travelling to England difficult to follow. Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s main point, group supporting details around that point, and use linking phrases only when their meaning fits the relationship between ideas.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “work experience,” “daily routine,” “culture,” and “discover new thing,” so the reader can identify the main subject and examples. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make parts of the response difficult to understand, such as “beniefit,” “draw bacv,” and “calture.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise, including “take a one year out” and “experience work.” Aim to learn accurate topic collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise expressions such as “take a gap year,” “gain work experience,” and “broaden their cultural awareness” would help you express your ideas more clearly and avoid repetition.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences, for example with “because” and “although,” but sentence structures are limited and these attempts are often faulty. Errors in verb forms and agreement appear in phrases such as “students woke up … then went to school” and “some people choose … has some advantages.” Articles and sentence construction are also frequently inaccurate, as in “take year year out” and “after the came back to home.” These problems sometimes make the intended meaning hard to follow. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them using one clear subordinate clause. Pay particular attention to consistent tense, subject–verb agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries.
