Student answer (Band 5.5)

In the contemporary world, there has been much debate regrading that education system and how it has been changed past few dacades. Several individuals believe get some qulification from work or trour for mind relaxation will helpful for there future education jorny. While I agree with this statement, I believe this short break will imrove there mindset for get better outcome in their next stages.

On the one hand, there are significant number of youngsters, who don't understand aboute their working envirnment and coundn't handle the serious problems with using there experiance. This problem came with less experice and good acadamic background people. Although they have quality education in their past, they can't go throught of singale of industrial problems. Furthermore, we have to encorage training progame and internship occupations to our young genaration and then they will gain sort of valuble knowlege from them. As as example, every student should have to finish their intern progam in the University Of Sri Jayewardanapura and then they can get degree certificate.

On the othre hand, this one year brake could be give negative impression to children because of they can realize education is not compulsory for their future. Futhermore, after this period most of young people can enter to professional job rather than re-join with university and finished their higher education. It will create negative outcome for there futre lifestyle and also these will create loop hole in quality scientist and other professional job roles.

In conclusion, although with few problems due to this short term break, I would argue work experiance and mind relaxation are really importent parts for make a better person for country.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You give a relevant response and state a position in the introduction (“I agree”), then return to the value of work experience in the conclusion. The discussion also recognises a possible drawback: some young people may choose employment instead of returning to university. However, the position is not fully consistent, because the first body paragraph focuses on work experience while the second raises concerns about taking a break, without clearly weighing these against the benefits in the question. The claim that a break improves students’ mindset is introduced but not explained, and the internship example does not clearly illustrate a year out before university. Develop each main point with a direct explanation of how non-academic experience benefits later study, and make your overall degree of agreement clear throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs signposted with “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” and a conclusion. This gives the reader an overall route through the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow. For example, the first body paragraph moves from students’ lack of workplace experience to training programmes and then to a university internship, without clearly linking these points to a year out. Some linking phrases are also mechanical, and references such as “this problem” and “these” do not always identify their meaning precisely. Use a clear topic sentence for each paragraph, then explain and illustrate that point in sequence; make pronoun references explicit so the connections between ideas are easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary relevant to education and employment, including “work experience,” “industrial problems,” “internship,” “professional job,” and “higher education.” These choices show an effort to discuss the topic beyond very basic terms. However, the range is limited and many spelling and word-choice errors make parts of the response difficult to understand, such as “qulification,” “trour,” “experiance,” and “loop hole.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise, including “get some qualification from work” and “mind relaxation.” Aim to use accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. For instance, describe gaining “practical experience” or taking “a break to travel,” and explain specifically how these experiences could support a student’s later academic work.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a concession beginning “Although they have quality education” and a contrast introduced by “While I agree.” This shows some willingness to vary sentence structure. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction can make meaning unclear. Examples include “this short break will imrove there mindset for get better outcome” and “this one year brake could be give negative impression.” There are also problems with clause structure in “because of they can realize.” Practise building accurate sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement and verb patterns—for example, “could give a negative impression” and “because they may realise.” Greater control of these basics would make your ideas much easier to follow.
