Student answer (Band 5.0)
In this modern era, it has become trend to take a study gap for relaxing their mind or for further experience. Most of the individuals take a year gap between finishing school and starting university in order to gain work experience or travel. I totally disagree with this statement because it distract the focus from study to another field.
Firstly, student should not take study gap. For instance, when they go out for one year studu gap they totally forget their daily study habits. In this way, they loss their consistency regarding study. Secondly, when they travel between 1 year study gap they become habitual of travelling. For example, during journey they see the beauty of nature so, in this way they become admire to travelling again and again rather then to focus on their education.
The experience of non-academic life does not provide enough benefits to individuals when they come back to their study because they completely loss their stamina to understand complex structures. Another drawback of 1 year gap study is that it also effect on their cv when they have to go for apply a job. Because it represent your age. When student come back from a long gap his mind become durable and he face a lot of difficulties in their life.
In an epitome, take a year out between finishing and starting university has more drawbacks like failure of consistency, away from study, take more intrest in outdoore activities like travelling, jobs and other work experience as well. So, students should continue to busy in their study either by getting diploma or other learning skills neither to take a year gap.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You state a clear position—“I totally disagree”—and give several reasons, including losing study habits and finding it difficult to resume academic work. However, the response addresses the topic only partially because it focuses mainly on possible disadvantages and does not explain or weigh the benefits of work experience or travel, which are central to the claim. Some support is also unclear: the idea that travel makes students “admire” travelling does not show convincingly how this affects their return to education, and the point about a gap affecting a CV is not developed. To strengthen the response, explain each reason with a realistic example and address why some students may benefit from a year out. The response meets the stated length requirement; 13 words copied from the prompt were not counted.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph beginning “Firstly,” a further paragraph about drawbacks, and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “In an epitome” signal the intended progression. However, the development is repetitive, with several points returning to loss of study focus without clearly building on one another. Some links are also difficult to follow: the connection between travelling and becoming less focused on education is asserted rather than explained, and “Because it represent your age” does not clearly connect to the CV point. Use topic sentences to distinguish your main reasons, then explain each link step by step. More precise referencing and fewer formulaic connectors would make the argument easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “work experience,” “consistency,” “complex structures,” and “CV,” and you attempt to express ideas beyond very basic statements. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make the meaning unclear, as in “they become admire to travelling,” “their mind become durable,” and “take more intrest in outdoore activities.” There are also spelling errors, including “studu,” “rather then,” and “intrest.” Aim for precise, natural phrases rather than using ambitious words whose meaning does not fit. For example, explain that students may lose study routines or find it challenging to readjust to academic demands. Proofreading spelling and checking word forms will also improve clarity.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, using structures such as “because” and “when,” and the reader can generally identify your main position. However, the range remains limited, and errors occur frequently, particularly in subject–verb agreement, articles, and sentence construction. Examples include “it distract the focus,” “student should not take,” and “it also effect on their cv.” The sentence “Because it represent your age” is also incomplete as written, while “when student come back … his mind become” contains several agreement errors. Practise forming accurate simple sentences first, then combine related ideas with clauses. Check that subjects and verbs agree, that singular countable nouns have articles, and that each sentence is complete and correctly punctuated.
