Student answer (Band 5.0)
Many young people choose to take a year out between finishing school and starting univeristy in order to gain work experience or to travel.I completely agree with this .It has many benefits. You need not waste your time in leisuring and enjoying movies or other things .It is very useful period for those people who got something from this journey.Especially it is good to take a computer course.Because in univeristy life knowldge of computer is very necessary. And you have a time to think about your future and choose a good univeresity. It is time when you have a some break from daily study routine and have a some rest. And it is also a time when you ready yourself for the next life which is quitely differnt from the sachool life.
I have a very bad experience about this situation. Because after completed my intermediate exam i imidately took admission in univeristy. And i can not explain how much diifficult period it to me.I have faced my difficulties there because i have a no knowldge of computer .When teachers assign me a some assignment it is very difficult to me to done this work .
And the same time test are arranged and due to less knowldge of computer i totally loss my time in making assignment.
I show very inactive behaviour because i need to some rest.and my first semester spend very badly.I am very worried about my future.Taking no gap after school had a bad effect on me. So i agree atleast one year gap is necessary for better future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
Your position is clear: you agree that a gap year can help, and the personal account of struggling with computer-based assignments after entering university immediately is relevant support. However, the response addresses the topic only partially. It focuses mainly on computer skills and rest, while the prompt also mentions work experience and travel; these possibilities are not meaningfully discussed. Several claims, such as choosing a “good university,” are introduced but not explained. The response is also 14 words below the 250-word minimum, so it does not meet the task’s length requirement. To develop the answer further, explain how work or travel builds skills that support later study, and extend your example with specific consequences or lessons.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some organisation: the opening gives your opinion, and the personal experience provides a relevant example before the conclusion restates your agreement. However, the overall progression is limited, with several different points—computer courses, choosing a university, rest, and preparation for adult life—placed together without clear development or transitions. The second paragraph begins with “I have a very bad experience” and then gives useful details, but the relationship between those details and the earlier claims could be signposted more clearly. Linking phrases such as “For example,” “As a result,” and “In addition” would help show how each idea connects. Use separate paragraphs for distinct benefits and for your personal example, then conclude by drawing the points together.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “work experience,” “daily study routine,” “assignment,” and “first semester,” and the reader can generally understand your main message. However, the range is limited and several expressions are inaccurate or unnatural, which sometimes makes the meaning harder to follow. For example, “leisuring and enjoying movies” does not express the intended contrast clearly, and “I totally loss my time” uses an unsuitable word form and collocation. Spelling errors such as “univeristy,” “knowldge,” and “differnt” are also noticeable. Aim to use precise phrases for the benefits you discuss, and check spelling and collocations carefully. The suggestions below offer more natural alternatives.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
Your response communicates a basic position and includes attempts to connect ideas, but sentence structures are mostly simple, and errors occur frequently. Examples include “after completed my intermediate exam,” where the verb pattern is incorrect, and “I have a no knowldge,” where the article and noun phrase are not formed correctly. In “When teachers assign me a some assignment it is very difficult to me to done this work,” several parts of the sentence structure are faulty, making the meaning less fluent. There are also problems with tense and agreement, as in “my first semester spend very badly.” Practise accurate past-tense narration and build longer sentences using controlled clauses, such as explaining what happened and why it affected your studies.
