Student answer (Band 5.0)
So, I agree with it but on the same time I disagree. I will explain my point of view in such a way that first, I will explain why I agree and then I will explain why I disagree.
I agree with this pint beacause in my point of view, a few months break in acadamic session is good because many students are tirred in the borring life of the studies only. They want to enjoy their life as the life is granted only for once. They think that we have become like machines who work day and night and donot take any break. We have forgot that life is very short and we are just spending the time in our daily life like the machines do. They just do their work and then shut down. According to the new generation, especially the students, this is true as we wake up everyday and get ready for school, we go to school and then return to home with tired or frustrated mood. When we come home we only eat food and then sleep and then do the school tasks and this activity continues till the end of the school era. So, in this way, students want to take a break and in that time they want to enjou their life and want to take some experience from the life. While some students skip their whole acadamic year just to get some job experience. This is also good as well, because, in this way they can get the experience from the life.
Now, I will explain why I disagree with this. As we know that time is the most important thing in the world so when a student skip a whole year just for the enjoyments of life, he not only remains behind his friends but also he bacomes a burden for his family. He is just like an eating bull who does nothing but eat and drink. The student himself becomes tired by doing nothing, and he only remians at home. He is unable to understand the meaning of how it seems to study with others.
Example :
One of my friend as well wasted a whole year before getting admission in the university. Now, he is repenting on it. Not only his time has been waste but also he is not able to understand anything in the classes.
Conclusion :
In conclusion, I would like to say that a person should waste his year if he is exhausted from his student life but if he wants to support his family he should never become a weight on his family and continue to study so that he can become the support for his family.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both sides of the question and give a personal example, so the response is relevant. However, your position is not fully clear: the opening says you both agree and disagree, while the conclusion says a person “should waste his year” if exhausted, which does not clearly explain the extent of your agreement. The discussion focuses mainly on students needing a break from routine and on the risk of falling behind or burdening family. It gives little explanation of how work experience or travel can benefit students when they return to education, which is central to the prompt. Develop that link with specific outcomes, such as greater independence, practical skills, or clearer study goals, and make your overall position consistent.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two viewpoints, and a conclusion, giving it some overall organisation. The sequence is generally understandable, and signposts such as “I agree” and “Now, I will explain why I disagree” help identify the sections. However, progression within paragraphs is repetitive: the first body paragraph repeatedly describes students’ tiring routine without moving clearly from the break itself to its educational benefits. Connect each main idea to the next with clearer reasoning, and avoid relying on formulaic announcements. The standalone “Example” and “Conclusion” labels interrupt the essay’s flow; integrate the friend’s experience into the paragraph and use a conventional concluding paragraph without a heading.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
Your vocabulary communicates the general topic, with phrases such as “job experience,” “student life,” and “support his family.” However, the range is limited and several expressions are repetitive or imprecise, including repeated references to “machines,” “life,” and “experience.” Some word choices are unnatural or too informal for an academic essay, such as “eating bull,” “weight on his family,” and “enjoyments of life.” Spelling errors, including “pint,” “acadamic,” “tirred,” and “remians,” also make the writing less clear and polished. Build a more precise vocabulary for the prompt, especially terms describing the benefits of a gap year, and check spelling and collocations carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including clauses beginning with “because,” “when,” and “as,” and the main meaning is usually understandable. However, the range is limited, and complex sentences often contain errors that make the reader work to follow the ideas. For example, “I agree with it but on the same time I disagree” has faulty phrasing and an unclear relationship between the two positions. There are also recurring problems with verb forms and agreement, as in “We have forgot” and “he not only remains behind … but also he bacomes.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation are inconsistent, particularly in the long routine description. Practise accurate clause construction and vary sentence patterns while keeping them controlled.
