Student answer (Band 4.5)
Yes, i agree with that many of young people choose to take a year out between finishing school including me. I also take a gap from the study after 7th grade and go to other religious institute to get islamic education and also learn the method of live a respectful life. This is very important for me because its can change my behaviour , tells about how can nature works ,how we can coordinate with other people ,how we give the respect to other ,how we use or choose words for other ,how we spreading love in this world. So this is the main reason i get gap in the education also now after completing my graduation i take a gap now i take a experience of teaching students in school and how i manage the students and class as well.Experience in life are very important because of the money, jobs ,employment, and many other factors like open your mind , open your thinking, to become successfull and also many other things . Learning is a very interesting if you love to understand things and learn the things and also apply on you.In my opinion everyone should need to take out a year from education to learn experience , to learn religious things and to learn how to be happy in your life .In this world the life is too short you need experience non academic life as well .My experience is quiet different and very enjoytable to me i do lots of things and learn core of my life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You give a clear general position by agreeing that time outside formal education can be valuable, and your personal examples—religious study after school and later teaching—are relevant to the topic. You also explain several possible benefits, such as learning to manage students and developing social understanding. However, the response does not fully develop how these experiences specifically help someone when they return to university; the link to academic study is mostly asserted rather than explained. The discussion also becomes broad, for example, saying everyone should take a year out, without considering that benefits may depend on the experience. The response is 248 words, so it is two words below the 250-word minimum; the 11 words copied from the prompt were not counted.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
Your ideas are generally related to the topic, and the response moves from your own experiences to broader claims about the value of non-academic life. However, it is presented as one long paragraph, so the reader cannot easily distinguish your position, examples, and conclusion. Many points are joined in a continuous sequence, particularly the list beginning “how can nature works” and ending with “spreading love in this world.” This makes the progression difficult to follow, and links between ideas are often implied rather than clearly signposted. To improve, use separate paragraphs for your view, each example, and your conclusion, and explain how each example supports the central argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “gap,” “experience,” “religious education,” “teaching,” and “manage the students and class.” These choices help communicate your personal examples and show an attempt to discuss learning beyond school. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “learn,” “experience,” and “life.” Some expressions are imprecise or unnatural, such as “take a gap from the study,” “the method of live a respectful life,” and “learn core of my life,” which can make your meaning harder to understand. Aim to use more precise collocations and vary repeated vocabulary; for example, describe specific skills or personal qualities gained rather than repeatedly referring to learning and experience.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to connect several ideas in longer sentences, and the reader can usually identify your main point. However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and attempts to combine many clauses often produce frequent grammatical errors that sometimes make the message difficult to follow. Examples include “i also take a gap,” “its can change my behaviour,” and “how can nature works”; these show problems with verb forms, pronouns, and question structure. There are also errors in agreement and sentence boundaries, as in “Experience in life are very important” and the long run-on sequence beginning “This is very important for me.” Practise accurate simple sentences first, then build longer sentences with clear clause boundaries and correct verb forms.
